Dental Treatment Coordinator/Assistant
Crowns Now - Irmo
Irmo, SC
M-Th 8am to 5pm
$23 and up, DOE
Medical, In-house dental, vision, PTO, Holiday, Sick, 401k (matching), scrub reimbursement
The Dental Treatment Coordinator plays a pivotal role in bridging the gap between patients and dental care providers by facilitating clear communication and ensuring patients understand their treatment options and financial responsibilities. The position is responsible for guiding patients through their treatment plans, answering questions, and coordinating appointments to optimize patient experience and treatment acceptance. The coordinator works closely with dentists, assistants, and administrative staff to streamline treatment workflows and enhance overall office efficiency.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Previous experience in a dental office; ideally a similar patient coordination role
Strong understanding of dental terminology, procedures, and insurance processes
Proficiency with dental practice management software Eaglesoft
Experience working with dental insurance claims and benefit verification systems
Familiarity with HIPPA regulations and patient confidentiality standards
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Background in customer service or sales, ability to guide patients through decision making
Responsibilities
Serve as primary point of contact for patients regarding treatment plans, financial options, and appointment scheduling
Explain dental procedures, treatment plans, and associated costs clearly and compassionately to patients
Maintaining patient records and confidentiality according to HIPAA
Addressing objections and negotiating treatment plans and costs
Verify insurance benefits and assist patients in understanding their coverage and out-of-pocket expenses.
Staying current on local and national government dental coverage assistance to understand insurance eligibility
Explaining dental terminology and conveying the importance of oral hygiene and treatment
Scheduling appointments, treatment plan consultations, and post-treatment follow-ups
Submitting insurance applications and documents to insurance companies
Streamlining office operations and communication between patients, staff and dentists
Helping patients track and follow payment schedules
Help patients understand their dental benefits and treatment and assist with treatment plan acceptance
Provide top-tier patient/customer service and satisfaction
Able to deescalate patient grievances effectively and satisfy patient dental treatment inquiries as needed
