This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Technical Representative QLD based in Australia.
This is a hands-on, field-based technical role focused on supporting and growing a well-established customer base within the automotive refinish sector. You will act as a key link between technical expertise and commercial performance, combining spray painting know-how with customer-facing responsibility. Working across distributors and end-users, you will deliver product demonstrations, training, and on-site technical support that directly impact product adoption and customer satisfaction. The role offers strong autonomy across your territory, with the opportunity to shape demand and strengthen long-term partnerships. You will also contribute to system trials, installations, and troubleshooting activities that ensure optimal product performance in real-world applications. Operating from a home-office base in Queensland, you will play a central role in expanding market presence while reinforcing brand loyalty and technical excellence.
You will be responsible for driving technical engagement and commercial growth across your assigned territory by combining hands-on expertise with customer-facing activities. This includes delivering demonstrations, supporting product adoption, and ensuring end-users receive the highest level of technical guidance.
- Demonstrate existing and new products to distributors and end-users to support adoption and sales growth
- Plan, coordinate, and lead system trials with target customers to validate product performance
- Install and support paint systems and related equipment such as mixing machines and colour tools
- Provide ongoing technical, application, and colour support to distributors and end-users
- Promote product usage across existing accounts while identifying new business opportunities
- Respond to and resolve technical application issues raised by customers or distributors
- Deliver training sessions to new and existing users to ensure correct and efficient product application
This role requires a strong foundation in automotive spray painting combined with customer-facing experience in a technical or commercial environment. You will be confident working independently, managing your territory, and translating technical knowledge into practical solutions.
- Trade qualification in vehicle spray painting with a minimum of 4 years’ hands-on experience
- Proven experience working with customers, prospects, or distributors in the automotive sector
- Strong understanding of spray painting processes and application techniques
- Comfortable using Windows and Microsoft Office tools in a professional environment
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills
- Strong organisational and time management abilities with a proactive working style
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly across the assigned territory
- A customer-focused mindset with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
