This role is centered on developing clear, compelling, and strategic communications that translate complex technical and operational information into accessible messaging for diverse audiences. You will support both internal and external communication initiatives, working across teams in a fast-paced, distributed environment. The position involves creating high-quality written and visual content, supporting leadership messaging, and contributing to outreach efforts that enhance program visibility and stakeholder engagement. You will operate in a mission-driven setting where accuracy, clarity, and attention to detail are essential. A key part of your impact will be shaping communications that support government programs and public-facing initiatives. - Develop, write, and edit high-quality communications materials for internal and external audiences, including presentations, talking points, and outreach content.
- Translate complex technical and programmatic information into clear, accessible messaging for non-technical stakeholders.
- Support the development and execution of communications plans aligned with organizational and program objectives.
- Collaborate with technical teams and subject matter experts to ensure accuracy and clarity in all deliverables.
- Prepare materials for events, leadership updates, and public-facing communications on tight deadlines.
- Manage multiple assignments simultaneously while maintaining quality standards and adherence to style and compliance guidelines.
- Facilitate meetings and support coordination efforts across distributed teams and stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in communications, content development, or editorial roles.
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with experience producing deadline-driven content.
- Experience working in government, public sector, or similarly structured environments preferred.
- Ability to translate complex topics into clear, audience-appropriate messaging.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high quality under tight deadlines.
- Proficiency with MS Office tools and collaboration platforms such as SharePoint or Teams.
- Familiarity with style guides (e.g., AP Style) and plain language standards is highly valued.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a remote environment.
- Competitive salary range: $68,000 – $92,000 (USD), based on experience and location
