Senior Payroll & Tax Specialist in Texas City, Texas at Symmetry Anesthesia LLC

The Senior Payroll & Tax Specialist owns end-to-end, multi-state payroll and payroll tax operations for Symmetry Anesthesia, an anesthesia practice serving sites across Texas. This role prepares and ensures accurate, timely, and compliant pay for a clinical workforce of anesthesiologists, CRNAs, and support staff, along with accurate and timely federal and state payroll tax filings. The Specialist also serves as the organization's Paylocity subject matter expert as payroll transitions to an in-house model.

• 3–5 years of progressive payroll preparation and experience with direct payroll tax responsibility.
• 3+ years of hands-on Paylocity experience, including system administration.
• Demonstrated multi-state payroll and year-end processing experience.
• Working knowledge of FLSA and federal/state payroll tax regulations.
• Advanced Excel skills (XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, pivot tables, reconciliations).
• High attention to detail and integrity in handling confidential information.

Preferred:

• Anesthesia or physician group payroll experience, including provider compensation, call pay, and shift-based pay.
• QGenda or comparable clinical scheduling system integration experience.
• Experience supporting a payroll transition from a PEO or outsourced model to in-house.
• CPP or FPC certification (or actively pursuing).
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
