Job Description

1. Main Functions

The Program Associate (Private and Corporate Sector Engagement) position provides operational support, execution, and coordination across the offices private sector engagement, corporate donor relations, stewardship and communications portfolios. Following formal partnership agreements and expanding pipeline opportunities, the Associate focuses on ensuring that corporate and private donor commitments are translated into concrete action plans, measure conservation outcomes, and sustained stakeholder engagement.

WWF- Bhutan requires a multi-functional operational approach to achieve its strategic conservation goals. By prioritizing execution, this foundational role ensures that administrative stewardship, and creative tasks are seamlessly linked to the broader mission of WWF-Bhutan.

While primary focus is directed towards private sector engagement and corporate donor relationship management, the role also provides essential support across broader communications and environmental education programs.

The Program Associate will provide support operational and technical support across three primary functions:

  • Private Sector and Corporate Engagement (Primary Focus): Operational, administrative, and relationship-management support for corporate donors, business entities (including ongoing engagement with entities in Gelephu Mindfulness City- GMC), and formal partnership implementation.
  • Communications and Marketing: Operational support for the brand voice by assisting with the production of high-quality communications assets for digital media and publications.
  • Environmental Education and Stewardship: Logistics and administrative support for youth outreach, community engagement, and activities hosted at the WWF education center.

These functions translate into specific daily duties that ensure the consistent delivery of WWF-Bhutans public-facing and donor-related initiatives.

2. Key Duties and Responsibilities

2.1. Private Sector, Corporate Engagement, Partnership Stewardship (Primary Focus)

  • Support the management and execution of formal corporate partnership agreements, ensuring commitments are translated into concrete action plans, timelines, and measurable outputs.
  • Assist in managing and stewarding relationships with private donors and corporate partners, including ongoing efforts to deepen engagement with business entities in Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC).
  • Assist with formatting and preparing fundraising assets, pitch decks, and donor stewardship materials to support partner acquisition and retention.
  • Assist in the administrative documentation of preliminary Environmental and Social (ES) risk assessments and support the implementation of the Environmental and Social Safeguards Framework (ESSF) for partner engagement

2.2. Communications, Content Development, and Brand Management

  • Support the scheduling and content creation for all official social media channels, including the monitoring of baseline analytics and audience engagement levels.
  • Assist with formatting and Layout recurring organizational products, including the Panda Quarterly Newsletter, and the WWF-Bhutan calendar, utilizing Adobe Creative Suite and/or Canva.
  • Maintain institutional archives, ensuring that publications, photographs, and audio-visual materials are organized, tagged, and easily retrievable for staff.
  • Assist in drafting and preparing digital and print collateral, such as fact sheets and brochures, ensuring all materials comply strictly with WWF branding guidelines.

2.3. Environmental Education and Youth Engagement

  • Assist with event and facility logistics for the Panda Explore: WWF-Bhutan Learning Centre, helping ensure the facility and materials are prepared for educational sessions and visitor groups.
  • Support volunteer activities and citizen-science programs, providing the logistical support necessary for youth participation.
  • Support the design and delivery of experiential learning activities, ensuring they are accessible, organized, and engaging diverse audiences.

2.4. Event Coordination and Logistics

  • Support event logistics for workshops, seminars, and exhibitions, including venue selection, vendor communication, and the procurement of necessary materials.
  • Administer travel arrangements and field logistics for staff and participants, ensuring adherence to organizational travel policies.
  • Help prepare post-event documentation and assist in the processing of financial settlements to ensure all activities are closed out accurately.

Other Duties and Responsibilities

Perform any other duties and responsibilities assigned by the supervisor that are relevant to the position and aligned with organizational needs. The ssuccessful performance of these duties requires a highly collaborative approach, working closely with the wider WWF-Bhutan team to ensure programmatic outputs are delivered with technical and administrative excellence.

3. Working Relationships:

  • Internal: Work closely on a daily basis with the Private Sector Focal Point, Senior Manager for Communications and Marketing, program officers, and wider WWF-Bhutan staff.
  • External: Maintain close interaction with corporate partners, private donors, business entities in GMC, government agencies, local communities, educational institutions, faith-based initiatives, and relevant colleagues across the global WWF network.


Qualifications

Qualification and Competency Requirements

A successful Program Associate must possess a blend of corporate engagement aptitude, technical design skills, linguistic proficiency, and a steadfast commitment to conservation values. This combination ensures that the technical outputs of the office are professional, culturally resonant, and mission aligned.

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in communications, Business Administration, Environmental Science, Environmental Education, or related field.
  • Experience: 4 years of relevant professional experience in communications, program support, or environmental education.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (specifically InDesign and Photoshop) and Canva, alongside competence in digital communication tools, stakeholder database management, and social media analytics.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Energetic, enthusiastic, and passionate about nature, conservation, and sustainable development.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage diverse audiences, including corporate executives, youth, and local communities.
  • Aptitude for partnership cultivation, corporate stewardship, and tracking multi-stakeholder project commitments.
  • Creative in designing engaging digital collateral and interactive learning experiences.
  • Disciplined, organized, and able to implement programs in a structured, timely manner.
  • Reliable and consistent in delivering administrative and operational responsibilities.
  • Strong facilitation, communication, and event coordination skills.
  • Ability to develop and coordinate multi-disciplinary programs and work effectively with a wide range of partners.
  • Willingness to travel to field offices, project sites, and partner venues as required.
  • Excellent written and oral English communication skills; proficiency in Dzongkha and other national languages is required.
  • Ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision while motivating teams, partners, and stakeholders.
