Department Scope

The position supports a variety of industrial construction, fabrication, and maintenance activities, including:

• Piping fabrication
• Hydrotesting
• Structural steel fabrication
• Greenfield and brownfield mechanical construction
• General facility maintenance
• Abandonment and decommissioning
• Investigative digs

Work Conditions & Requirements

• Ability to use a tablet and/or laptop as required for job duties and documentation.
• Valid driver's licence and a safe driving record are required.
• Work will be performed at various job sites and locations, with rotating shifts as required by the project.
• Must be comfortable working in a variety of weather and climate conditions.
• This is a physically demanding position requiring frequent bending, lifting, carrying, and manual handling of materials and equipment.
• Living-out allowance (LOA) may be provided depending on the job location and project requirements.
• Must be willing and able to comply with all site-specific safety, training, PPE, and access requirements.

Duties & Responsibilities

Project & Site Coordination

• Define project scope, objectives, risks, assumptions, staffing requirements, roles and responsibilities, milestones, and deliverables.
• Review and understand all site-access requirements, including PPE, safety training, drug and alcohol testing, and other client-specific requirements.
• Complete all required pre-job documentation, including Field Level Hazard Assessments (FLHAs).
• Identify, communicate, monitor, and maintain project Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) expectations and deliverables.
• Coordinate and oversee daily activities in accordance with project requirements, schedules, and site procedures.

Fabrication & Mechanical Responsibilities

• Load, unload, transport, and position construction materials and equipment in designated work areas.
• Set up and safely operate bending, threading, cut-off, burning, and other fabrication equipment.
• Coordinate and oversee the fabrication of piping and structural components.
• Fabricate, install, dismantle, repair, and maintain various types of piping systems.
• Prepare pipe for welded and specialized joints.
• Make and seal various types of joints, including the installation of gaskets, packing, and pipe supports.
• Test joints and piping systems for leaks in accordance with project specifications and procedures.
• Apply various types of insulation and pipe coverings as required.
• Perform hydrotesting and related activities as required by the project.

Safety & Housekeeping

• Follow all company and client safety policies, procedures, and site requirements.
• Lock out and isolate equipment as required, ensuring all necessary safety precautions are followed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area at all times.
• Keep tools, equipment, and materials clean, properly maintained, and stored when not in use.
• Immediately report hazards, unsafe conditions, incidents, or equipment concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
• Perform all duties in accordance with applicable company, client, and regulatory requirements.
