Senior Market Insights Analyst

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Market Insights Analyst based in the United States.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape strategic energy procurement and advisory decisions through advanced market analysis and data-driven storytelling. As a key contributor within a collaborative and fast-paced environment, you will analyze complex energy market dynamics, identify emerging trends, and translate technical insights into actionable recommendations for diverse stakeholders. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will help guide client strategies by connecting market fundamentals, regulatory developments, and pricing trends to real-world business outcomes. This position is ideal for a highly analytical professional who enjoys uncovering meaningful insights, influencing decision-making, and delivering impactful narratives that drive value in evolving energy markets.

Accountabilities
  • Analyze U.S. energy market fundamentals, including supply and demand dynamics, pricing movements, regulatory developments, and market trends to support strategic decision-making.
  • Transform complex datasets and market intelligence into clear, compelling narratives that help stakeholders understand market conditions, risks, and opportunities.
  • Conduct market research and generate in-depth analyses from concept development through final recommendations.
  • Monitor policy changes, regulatory activity, and industry developments, assessing their potential impact on procurement strategies and client objectives.
  • Develop high-quality reports, presentations, and other deliverables that effectively combine quantitative analysis with insightful storytelling.
  • Present findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences, tailoring communication to maximize understanding and engagement.
  • Collaborate with procurement, strategy, and client-facing teams to convert analytical findings into practical business recommendations.
  • Identify emerging trends, market risks, and growth opportunities while providing ongoing market intelligence and thought leadership.
  • Support the enhancement of internal analytical tools, forecasting models, reporting processes, and data visualization capabilities.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in retail energy procurement, energy market analysis, advisory services, economics, finance, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. energy markets, including ISO/RTO structures, pricing mechanisms, market drivers, and industry terminology.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities with experience synthesizing large datasets into actionable business insights.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex information through clear, persuasive narratives and data storytelling techniques.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data manipulation, advanced formulas, and pivot tables.
  • Experience with business intelligence and visualization platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools is preferred.
  • Strong data visualization skills with the ability to present information in a clear and impactful manner.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to engage both technical and executive-level audiences.
  • Proven ability to independently source, validate, interpret, and analyze data from multiple sources.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, accountability, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Comfortable working remotely and collaborating effectively within virtual, cloud-based work environments.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship requirements.
