Job Description

Fractional Product Systems Designer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Fractional Product Systems Designer based in the United States.

This role focuses on shaping how complex internal products behave across web and mobile platforms, rather than designing individual screens. You will define system-level UX patterns that ensure consistency, predictability, and usability as multiple teams ship rapidly in parallel. Working across Angular, PrimeNG, and native iOS environments, you will help establish behavioral standards that make products feel cohesive and intuitive over time. The environment is fast-moving, engineering-driven, and highly collaborative, requiring strong systems thinking and decisive design leadership. You will act as a guardian of product coherence, ensuring that speed does not compromise clarity or user experience. This is a hands-on, high-impact fractional role where your influence directly shapes product quality at scale.

Accountabilities:
  • Own product-wide UX coherence by defining interaction patterns and ensuring consistency across modules, teams, and releases.
  • Audit existing systems and applications to identify effective patterns, eliminate redundancy, and guide convergence rather than redesign.
  • Define and standardize behavioral UX rules for Angular and PrimeNG components, including forms, tables, modals, permissions, and system states.
  • Establish and enforce native-first iOS UX principles aligned with Apple Human Interface Guidelines, preventing cross-platform design drift.
  • Partner closely with product managers to review early prototypes, challenge assumptions, and provide clear, opinionated UX direction.
  • Create scalable design systems and behavioral frameworks that reduce ambiguity and enable faster, more consistent product development.
  • Ensure long-term UX stability by preventing fragmentation as new features and modules are introduced.
Requirements:
  • Senior-level experience as a Product Designer, UX Designer, or Systems Designer with a strong focus on complex product ecosystems.
  • Proven experience working with internal tools, enterprise software, or multi-module applications at scale.
  • Deep systems thinking ability, with experience defining rules, constraints, and reusable interaction patterns.
  • Strong understanding of iOS design principles beyond visual UI, including navigation, gestures, and platform-native behavior.
  • Experience working directly with engineers and product managers in fast-paced, iterative environments.
  • Familiarity with component-based design systems and web frameworks such as Angular and PrimeNG is highly valuable.
  • Ability to challenge requirements constructively, prioritize clarity over visual polish, and enforce product discipline.
  • Strong communication skills with a preference for written documentation, frameworks, and structured thinking over heavy visual output.
Benefits:
  • Competitive fractional consulting compensation aligned with senior-level product design expertise
  • Flexible remote engagement within the United States
  • High-impact strategic role influencing core product architecture and UX direction
  • Close collaboration with engineering and product leadership in a fast-moving environment
  • Opportunity to shape scalable design systems used across multiple internal applications
  • Autonomous work style with emphasis on trust, ownership, and decision-making authority
  • Exposure to modern product development stacks including Angular, PrimeNG, and native iOS
