The Position:

This position is awaiting contract award.

Join our team as a Journeyman Acquisition Specialist Analyst supporting the F/A-18 variants program at NAS Norfolk, VA. In this role, you will provide critical lifecycle acquisition and program management support. You will ensure that vital program documentation complies with Department of Defense (DoD) regulations while directly influencing the mission readiness of naval aviation assets.

Responsibilities:

  • Draft, review, and maintain program milestone documentation. Ensure strict alignment with DoD and SECNAV 5000 series directives.
  • Develop essential program acquisition artifacts, including Acquisition Plans (APs), Acquisition Strategy Reports (ASRs), Procurement Instrument Identifiers (PIDs), Performance Work Statements (PWS), funding documents, Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs), and Acquisition Program Baseline Agreements (APBAs).
  • Evaluate program procedures, operational practices, and documentation against contract specifications and overarching mission requirements to identify risks and compliance gaps.
  • Prepare, analyze, and deliver executive briefs, point papers, and formal correspondence.
  • Actively participate in and report on program review boards, conferences, and high-level stakeholder meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess or be able to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Security Clearance to access the airfield and military installation.
  • Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from an accredited institution.
  • 3 to 10 years of direct experience in DoD acquisition management or program analysis, ideally supporting naval aviation or major defense acquisition programs (MDAPs).
  • Deep familiarity with the DoD 5000 series lifecycle frameworks and defense procurement processes.
  • Strong analytical capabilities, excellent technical writing skills, and the ability to operate comfortably in a fast-paced NAVAIR program office environment.
