QA Engineer in Rota, Andalucía at Jobgether

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a QA Engineer based in Spain.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of product quality across mobile, web, and backend systems in a fast-moving technology environment.
You’ll design and execute comprehensive testing strategies that validate complex, cross-platform user journeys from end to end.
Your work will help identify risks early, prevent production issues, and increase confidence in every release.
You’ll combine hands-on functional, API, regression, and backend testing with technical investigation of complex defects.
Working closely with Engineering and Product, you’ll influence quality throughout the development and release lifecycle.
The role offers significant autonomy and is well suited to someone who enjoys solving problems and taking responsibility for outcomes.
You’ll join a remote, evolving environment where disciplined testing and proactive quality ownership have a direct product impact.

• Design and execute comprehensive test strategies across mobile applications, web interfaces, and backend services.
• Validate complex end-to-end user flows spanning frontend experiences and backend systems.
• Perform REST API validation, data integrity checks, and business logic testing using tools such as Postman or equivalent platforms.
• Conduct cross-platform regression testing ahead of releases to ensure product stability and release readiness.
• Investigate and diagnose defects using application logs, network tools, API inspection, and other technical debugging techniques.
• Document, prioritize, and track defects while collaborating with engineers to identify root causes and drive resolution.
• Maintain reliable test environments, appropriate device coverage, and accurate platform test data.
• Proactively identify and communicate quality risks during sprint planning, development, and release cycles.

• Demonstrated experience testing mobile, web, and/or backend systems, with strong cross-platform testing capabilities.
• Proven experience validating RESTful APIs, backend services, data flows, and business logic.
• Solid understanding of software development and testing lifecycles (SDLC/STLC) and industry QA best practices.
• Hands-on experience with API testing tools such as Postman or similar solutions.
• Strong technical understanding of system architecture, integrations, APIs, and data flows.
• Ability to independently investigate issues and understand the technical context behind defects.
• Comfortable working in a remote, fast-paced, and continuously evolving startup environment.
• Strong ownership mindset, accountability, initiative, and ability to execute independently.
• Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
