Position Description:
Rachel Contracting is seeking qualified candidates for a Field Safety Manager.
Rachel Contracting is a specialty site-work contractor performing earthwork, demolition and utilities primarily in the Midwest/Central US region. Our team welcomes individuals who are passionate about their work and committed to delivering quality workmanship with integrity and professionalism.
The Field Safety Manager is responsible for creating an environment and culture focused on sustaining safe operations and engaged team members. This includes the continuous development, implementation and compliance of Rachel Contracting’s safety programs, policies, and procedures. The Field Safety Manager will also inspect, audit, and assist project sites in complying with Federal, State, Local, and Company polices. This is a proactive role working to improve physical conditions and team members’ behaviors to realize a company-wide culture of Health, Safety, and Environmental in all aspects of their lives. Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist in the administration of all aspects of company safety policies and procedures, including incident response and reporting.
- Assist in the administration Rachel Contracting’s field safety initiatives, including incident investigation, best practice sharing, safety orientations, discipline program, safety day and safety recognition program.
- Conduct regularly scheduled on-site reviews and audits of all project sites and communicate findings with Management Team.
- Provide reports and updates to the Management Team regarding any safety issues, new programs, and regulation changes.
- Ensures that safety technology tools are used, and those results are examined, trend data is analyzed, and plans are developed to reduce and prevent future safety incidents.
- Write and train team members on Site Specific HSE plans.
- Conduct new employee orientation with training, testing, and onboarding.
- Additional duties as assigned by management.
- Overnight and extended travel within the Midwest will be regularly required
Position Requirements:
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5-7 years in Construction related HSE programs
- Degree in HSE field, or CSP, CHST, OHST, OSHA 500/510, preferred, not required.
- Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, ability to be a team leader under challenging conditions, proven problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Proficient Computer Skills
- Being a positive self-motivator with a passion for the safety profession.
