We are looking to add new talent to our growing team! We are currently seeking a Senior Technical Expert/Program Manager, Geologist to work in a technical support role with highly skilled professionals on diverse project teams in a dynamic environment. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing group and company and get involved in a variety of projects for a diverse range of clients. This is a full-time position located in our Greenville, SC (preferred), Charlotte, NC, or Raleigh, NC offices.

In this role, you will provide strategic and technical leadership for the direction and delivery of nationwide environmental work serving industrial and manufacturing, energy and real estate clients. You will lead multidisciplinary teams and complex programs involving site investigation, remediation, and regulatory strategy while helping clients address challenging environmental conditions, achieve their business objectives, and uphold our safety culture. You will oversee the evaluation and interpretation of site characterization and geologic data, guide the development of conceptual site models, and establish technically sound approaches that align with applicable regulatory frameworks.

Regular in-office partioipation is expected to support team integration, junior-staff development, collaboration, and engagement in company culture and activities. The successful candidate will have an active Professional Geologist license; a Georgia Professional Geologist license or the ability to obtain Georgia licensure through reciprocity is preferred. Experience navigating Georgia environmental regulations is also preferred.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
In this position, you will:

• Draw from your diverse experience to lead some of our most complex projects and programs and may lead teams of project managers and technical experts with a focus on delivery, quality, financial performance, and health and safety.
• Lead the development of team technical competence, knowledge of codes and regulations, and professional standards of practice to assigned tasks.
• Balance management responsibilities with technical strategy and client advocacy, ensure project delivery aligns with professional standards and client expectations, and develop strong client relationships.
• Hold primary responsibility for the success of programs including contract negotiations, pricing, structure and processes, project planning and execution, resourcing, schedule, and financial management.
• Collaborate closely to support project teams, providing oversight, observing health and safety processes and procedures, and developing a working understanding of our various consulting practice areas.
• Regularly and effectively communicate with clients, partners, subcontractors, regulators and other stakeholders.
• Apply situational leadership and emotional intelligence to facilitate management of diverse stakeholders and team members.
• Plan and manage the development of geologic site characterization plans and oversee the implementation of field investigation programs.
• Lead project teams with the technical evaluation and interpretation of site characterization and geologic data, develop conceptual site models, and work with other multidisciplinary team members to assess the impact to project goals.
• Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with company and client health and safety protocols.
• Demonstrate the company’s foundational safety behaviors.
• Serve as the technical lead for site investigation, remediation, and regulatory strategy supporting industrial and manufacturing clients nationwide.
• Maintain regular in-office participation to support team integration, junior-staff development, collaboration, and engagement in company culture and activities

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Minimum Skills and Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology or related field.
• 16+ years of related work experience including direct project management experience.
• Professional registration or certification, as applicable.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to independently lead multi-disciplinary project teams to achieve project and client goals and objectives.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to details, and financial acumen.
• Proficient computer literacy skills including use of the Microsoft Office 365 Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint) and the ability to learn various software needed to support financial management, diverse project needs, and client requirements.
• Familiarity with industry-standard geologic modeling software.
• Active Professional Geologist license.
• Demonstrated experience providing technical leadership for complex environmental site investigations, remediation programs, or regulatory strategies.

Preferred Skills:

• Master’s degree in Geology or related field.
• 6+ years of project management and financial management experience.
• OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER training and refresher updates.
• Georgia Professional Geologist license or ability to obtain Georgia licensure through reciprocity.
• Experience navigating Georgia environmental regulations.
• Experience supporting environmental programs for industrial and manufacturing clients across multiple jurisdictions.
