Job Title: Human Resource Manager

Reports To: VP of People & Culture
POSITION SUMMARY
The Human Resources Manager serves as the primary HR partner for the BrandConnect, DLX Deals, and DeluxeAds divisions. This role coordinates day-to-day human resources activities across the employee lifecycle, advises leaders and employees, and helps ensure consistent application of company policies and compliance with federal, state, and local requirements. The position supports multiple business locations and works closely with division leadership to align people practices with operational needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
HR Partnership and Employee Relations
• Builds effective working relationships with BrandConnect and Deluxe Companies leaders and employees and provides timely, practical HR guidance.
• Advises management on employee relations matters, including performance concerns, workplace conduct, attendance, conflict resolution, corrective action, and terminations.
• Conducts or supports workplace investigations, documents findings, and partners with Corporate Human Resources on complex or sensitive matters.
• Interprets and consistently applies company policies, procedures, and employment practices while balancing business needs and employee experience.
• Identifies workforce trends and organizational risks and recommends solutions that support engagement, retention, productivity, and operational effectiveness.
Talent Acquisition and Employee Lifecycle
• Partners with hiring managers to define position requirements and coordinates recruiting, interviewing, selection, pre-employment screening, and hiring for exempt and non-exempt roles.
• Coordinates onboarding and new-hire orientation and ensures required employment documentation, policy acknowledgments, and system access steps are completed.
• Supports internal transfers, promotions, compensation changes, organizational changes, and employee separations, including exit processes and required documentation.
• Maintains accurate employee records and HRIS data and ensures personnel information is handled confidentially and retained in accordance with company requirements.
Performance Compensation and Development
• Administers annual performance review and merit increase processes for assigned divisions and prepares approved salary adjustments for processing.
• Coaches leaders on goal setting, performance feedback, career development, succession considerations, and performance improvement plans.
• Partners with leadership and Corporate Human Resources to evaluate job responsibilities, organizational structure, and compensation needs.
• Coordinates and documents required training, including compliance, safety, anti-harassment, and other division-specific programs.
Benefits Leave Payroll and Attendance Support
• Provides employee support and coordination for benefit questions, leave of absence administration, short-term disability, accommodations, and return-to-work processes, escalating matters as appropriate.
• Administers division attendance practices and supports leaders with accurate and consistent attendance documentation.
• Coordinates with Payroll and Benefits staff to communicate and resolve employee data, pay, timekeeping, deduction, and benefit issues affecting assigned divisions.
Culture Engagement and General Administration
• Plans or supports employee engagement and recognition activities, including service awards, employee events, retirement recognition, and community involvement initiatives.
• Responds to employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors and refers complex or highly sensitive matters to the appropriate resource.
• Maintains current knowledge of HR technology and uses HR systems and reporting tools to support accurate records, informed decisions, and efficient processes.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED ABILITIES AND SKILLS
• Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, negotiation, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Strong organizational, time-management, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with careful attention to detail and deadlines.
• Ability to prioritize competing demands, work independently, collaborate across divisions, and exercise sound judgment in sensitive situations.
• Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.
• Thorough working knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations and the principles and practices of human resources administration.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and HR information systems
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
• Three to five years of progressive human resources experience, including experience supporting managers and employees in multiple functional areas.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to travel between company office locations as required.
