Position Summary
The Manager of Student Support Services is a member of the Student Life team and provides leadership and direct support across a range of services that help students navigate their Fuller experience successfully. The role includes coordinating disability accommodations and access, administering Fuller’s Student Health Insurance (SHI) program, and supporting other student services and initiatives within Student Life.
The Manager works collaboratively with students, faculty, staff, and external partners to facilitate reasonable accommodations, promote equitable access to Fuller’s educational programs and services, and support institutional compliance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and other applicable laws. The Manager also serves as a primary institutional contact for students and scholars enrolled in Fuller’s health and dental insurance programs, working with insurance providers, brokers, medical providers, and campus partners to assist students with enrollment, coverage, claims, and related concerns.

Essential ResponsibilitiesStudent Support & ServicesProvide direct support to students across assigned Student Life programs and services, helping students navigate institutional processes, requirements, and available resources.
Serve as a point of connection for students seeking assistance and help identify and coordinate appropriate institutional resources and referrals.
Collaborate with the Dean of Students and campus partners to support student well-being, access, and successful participation in the Fuller community.
Develop and maintain clear student-facing information, communications, and resources for assigned programs and services.
Participate in new student orientation and other educational opportunities to connect students with available support, services, and resources.
Coordinate and promote TimelyCare and other student wellness resources in collaboration with the Dean of Students.
Identify opportunities to connect students with appropriate institutional and community health, wellness, and support resources.
Collaborate across Fuller to identify gaps, improve processes, and strengthen the student experience.
Support additional Student Life programs, initiatives, and services as assigned.
Coordinate the interactive accommodation process for students with disabilities across Fuller programs and instructional locations.
Review disability documentation, conduct student intake meetings, and determine eligibility for reasonable accommodations in accordance with applicable laws and institutional policies.
Develop, implement, and communicate approved accommodation plans to appropriate faculty and staff.
Provide ongoing support to students regarding approved accommodations and disability-related needs throughout their academic experience.
Consult with students regarding accommodation requests, access concerns, and available institutional resources.
Coordinate testing accommodations, including exam scheduling, proctoring, and related logistics.
Coordinate the provision of accessible course materials when required as an accommodation, working with publishers, accessible media providers, and appropriate institutional partners.
Review requests for housing accommodations, including Emotional Support Animals (ESAs), and make determinations or recommendations consistent with institutional policies and applicable legal requirements.
Maintain appropriate confidentiality and security of disability-related student information and records.
Manage the day-to-day administration of Fuller’s Student Health Insurance (SHI) and dental insurance programs.
Serve as a liaison among Fuller Theological Seminary, insurance companies, insurance brokers, medical providers, and Fuller students and scholars.
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with insurance company and broker representatives.
Process the enrollment of approximately 200 students and eligible dependents in Fuller’s health and dental insurance plans on a quarterly and/or annual basis.
Administer student health insurance waiver requests and related processes.
Ensure the appropriate security, handling, and dissemination of confidential and personal health and insurance information in accordance with applicable privacy requirements.
Reconcile quarterly insurance premiums, invoices, and payments in collaboration with appropriate Fuller offices.
Research best options for students when it comes to price and care.
Communicate important information about Fuller’s SHI program to the Fuller community, including enrollment and waiver deadlines, eligibility requirements, coverage information, and program changes.
Assist students in resolving health insurance-related issues, including claims questions, coverage concerns, billing issues, complaints, and general insurance questions.
Coordinate annual contracts and renewals with insurance companies and brokers in collaboration with institutional leadership.
Monitor student participation and utilization of Fuller’s SHI program and recommend potential program improvements or changes.
Collaborate with appropriate campus offices regarding the administration and communication of Fuller’s SHI program.
Maintain accurate enrollment, waiver, billing, and program records.
Coordinate quarterly blood drives for students, faculty, and staff.
Partner with faculty and academic leaders to facilitate the implementation of approved accommodations while preserving essential course and program requirements.
Consult with academic departments and administrative offices regarding disability accommodations, student access concerns, and other matters within the position’s areas of responsibility.
Collaborate with Academic Advising, Registrar, Financial Aid, Housing, Campus Safety, Teaching and Learning, Information Technology, Human Resources, Finance, and other appropriate offices to coordinate student support and remove barriers to participation.
Provide consultation to academic and institutional leaders regarding disability-related policies, procedures, accommodations, and compliance matters.
Assist in resolving disability-related concerns through collaborative problem-solving and the interactive accommodation process.
Partner with Teaching and Learning and other appropriate offices when individual accommodation needs intersect with broader course or institutional accessibility efforts.
Serve as a resource to faculty and staff regarding disability accommodations, student health insurance, wellness resources, and other assigned areas of student support.
Refer students to appropriate institutional offices and resources when needs extend beyond the scope of the position.
Develop clear and accessible educational materials to help students understand institutional processes, requirements, deadlines, and available resources within assigned areas.
Maintain current information regarding disability accommodations, student health insurance, wellness resources, and other assigned services on Canvas and other student-facing platforms.
Communicate important program information and changes to students, faculty, staff, and other appropriate audiences.
Provide presentations, workshops, orientation sessions, and other educational opportunities related to assigned student support programs and services.
Stay informed regarding best practices, emerging research, and changes in disability law, student accommodations, student health insurance, student support, and other areas relevant to assigned responsibilities through ongoing professional development and participation in appropriate professional organizations.
Coordinate daily operations associated with assigned student support programs and services, including disability accommodations, Student Health Insurance, and wellness resources.
Maintain accurate and confidential records and prepare reports as requested.
Monitor program data and trends related to accommodations, student access, health insurance enrollment, waivers, utilization, and other assigned areas.
Evaluate assigned programs and processes through student and faculty feedback, program data, and institutional needs, and recommend improvements.
Develop and maintain effective procedures, timelines, communications, documentation, and workflows for assigned programs.
Support the development and implementation of effective systems and technology solutions for managing student services, records, communications, and workflows.
Participate in institutional committees and working groups as assigned.
Assist with the development, implementation, and periodic review of policies and procedures related to disability accommodations, student health insurance, student wellness, and other assigned areas of student support.
Perform other duties consistent with the responsibilities of the position as assigned by the Dean of Students.
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Counseling, Rehabilitation Counseling, Disability Studies, Special Education, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
Minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in disability services, student affairs, or a related higher education setting.
Demonstrated knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and disability accommodation processes.
Experience applying disability documentation to determine reasonable accommodations.
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Ability to manage confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
Ability to interpret policies and regulations and exercise sound independent judgment.
Commitment to serving a diverse student population with empathy, professionalism, and respect.
Preferred
Experience working in graduate or theological higher education.
Familiarity with learning management systems (Canvas), assistive technology, and accessible document creation.
Experience providing training or educational programming related to accessibility or disability inclusion.
Knowledge of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and accessible instructional practices.

Pay Scale
Hourly rate the seminary expects to pay: $30.00 - $33.00 per hour USD
