This senior client-facing role leads complex spend management engagements designed to deliver measurable financial and operational value.
You will oversee multidisciplinary delivery teams and align resources, methodologies, and priorities with client objectives and contractual commitments.
The role combines strategic leadership, financial accountability, governance, risk management, and executive-level client engagement.
You will influence major decisions, build stakeholder trust, and ensure initiatives remain focused on measurable outcomes and agreed scope.
Success requires balancing client expectations, team performance, financial targets, and delivery risks across multiple workstreams.
You will also coach teams, strengthen governance, and communicate engagement performance to senior leaders and executive stakeholders.
Regular travel is expected to support client needs and maintain strong relationships throughout the engagement lifecycle.
Own overall accountability for engagement deliverables, financial outcomes, scope, timelines, and compliance with contractual commitments and established spend management methodologies.
Build client confidence, secure stakeholder buy-in, and influence strategic decisions and financial impact agreements.
Manage resources, including subject-matter experts and delivery staff, to ensure capacity and expertise are aligned with engagement objectives.
Monitor scope, risks, dependencies, budgets, margins, and key performance indicators, proactively addressing issues with internal and external stakeholders.
Establish and lead client governance structures, including steering committees, executive updates, milestone reviews, and critical sign-offs.
Protect financial performance by maintaining budget discipline, controlling scope, and addressing unauthorized or potentially value-impacting activities.
Lead and develop delivery teams through coaching, guidance, accountability, collaboration, and professional development.
Build and maintain productive relationships with clients and suppliers while ensuring high satisfaction and successful engagement outcomes.
Prepare and deliver clear, persuasive communications to senior executives and facilitate meetings that drive alignment across workstreams.
Evaluate engagement performance through quantitative and qualitative measures of value, velocity, satisfaction, and financial impact.
Identify, escalate, and resolve delivery risks while ensuring quality standards and governance requirements are consistently maintained.
Bachelor’s degree or relevant equivalent education preferred; a master’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field is desirable.
10+ years of relevant professional experience, including extensive experience in spend management within a supplier, healthcare system, or consulting environment.
Demonstrated ability to lead complex client engagements and make strategic decisions that balance immediate priorities with long-term objectives.
Strong executive presence with excellent written, verbal, presentation, and stakeholder communication skills.
Proven ability to quickly establish trust, credibility, and productive relationships with senior clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
Strong consensus-building, negotiation, conflict-resolution, and influencing skills across diverse teams and organizational levels.
Demonstrated ability to motivate teams, promote accountability, and foster a collaborative, ethical, and high-performance environment.
Strong understanding of engagement financials, scope management, resource planning, risk management, governance, and performance measurement.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and make sound judgments in complex, high-stakes client environments.
Willingness and ability to travel regularly and respond efficiently to client needs and timelines.
Estimated salary range of $187,800–$348,300, with geographic and individual factors considered in compensation decisions.
