Machine Operator - Weigh Up in Woodstock, Illinois at Magnetic Technologies Corporation

Brief Summary of Position:

Operate a variety of heat-treating equipment, including pre-heat and high-heat gas and electric fired furnaces, induction heat, stress, cooling, demagnetizing equipment.

Responsibilities/Essential Functions of Position:

• Determine sequences of varied operations to obtain optimum results from scheduled parts to be processed.
• Load pre-heat and high-heat furnaces and bring up to prescribed temperatures.
• Unload parts and place in proper stressing equipment.
• Set rectifiers, set-up jigs, temperatures, cycles, stress and cooling period, pack and loading method as prescribed.
• Set-up and operate induction heater, adjust controllers to obtain specified heat.
• Load draw barrels, check and observe performance.
• Investigate cause for machine shut-off.
• Check and observe indicating of recording equipment; match reading with settings; adjust power input report with apparent discrepancies.
• Assist in maintenance and repair of furnaces.
• Maintain job and production records
• Perform other duties as assigned.

General:

• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Work from written and verbal instructions.
• Comply with all plant and safety rules and regulations.
• Ensure that work areas are kept clean and orderly.

Required Technical/Job Experience and Qualifications:

• 1-3 years in manufacturing and machine operations.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings/blue prints and routing information so as to meet customer expectations.
• Ability to manage time and work flow to best optimize efficiency for the department.
• Strong communication skills to facilitate productive and consistent handling per customer requirements.
• Strong personal organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.

Education Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent GED equivalent qualification from certified college.

Beneficial Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of numbers).
• Effective interpersonal skills and relationship-building skills.
• Self-motivated and directed, with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds and be able to load and unload parts.
• Must be able to climb ladders and use hand-trucks, as required.
• Standing for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to work in hot climate environment.
