Job Summary

The Trimmer cuts down and regrinds scrap

plastic so material can be reused in production. Exceptional performance in

this role means safe, accurate trim work, parts handled without damage, and a

clean, organized work area that keeps the production line moving.

Key Responsibilities

Use various power tools daily to cut plastic scrap down to a manageable

size for the regrind machine.

Transport full containers of regrind plastic to the appropriate areas of

the production floor.

Handle parts properly to avoid damage to the product and meet quality

standards and critical dimensions per the work instructions.

Follow safety practices at all times while performing trim operations and

use the correct inserts and trimming requirements for each part.

Return tools, materials, molds and other equipment to their proper storage

areas and keep the work area organized and clean.

Communicate effectively with supervisors and work as part of a

high-performance team.

Cross-train in product assembly based on work instructions, and seek out

productive tasks during unexpected downtime.

Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities

Experience: Prior experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred; other combinations

of education and experience will be considered.

Ability to use basic hand and power tools and perform all functions

outlined in this job description.

Ability to solve practical problems and make decisions within a set of

guidelines.

Effective oral and written communication skills, including legible

handwriting in English.

Able to work under limited supervision using standardized practices and

procedures, and follow Solar Plastics and customer specified procedures.

Willing to accept and apply on-the-job training, adapt to changing

priorities, and stay positive in a fast-paced environment.

Scanning equipment use.

Occasional, represents 1 to 33% or 1-2 hours

of an 8-hour work day.

Frequently, represents 34 to 66% or 2 1/2 to

5 1/2 hours of an 8-hour work day.

While performing the duties of this job, the

employee regularly stands (approximately 90% of the shift), uses fingers and

hands to handle objects, tools and controls with continuous wrist and finger

movement, and twists, bends, pushes, pulls, carries, stoops, reaches and grasps

up to 8+ hours per day. The employee may push and/or pull up to 60 pounds and

lift and/or carry up to 40 pounds. The employee is regularly required to talk

and hear to communicate with others. Specific vision abilities required include

clear vision at 24 inches or less, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust

focus.

While performing the duties of this

job, the employee works in a typical manufacturing environment where noise and

temperature levels are above average. The employee may be exposed to moving

mechanical parts, solvents when cleaning parts, acids and corrosives when

cleaning floors, and dust, dirt, fumes, vapors and gases from plastics

processes, ovens and propane tanks. Required personal protective equipment

includes safety eye glasses and hearing protection, provided by the company,

and steel toed shoes, which are not provided by Tank Holding.
