ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The X-Ray Technician is responsible for performing radiographic imaging procedures to support diagnostic evaluations. This role ensures the safe and effective operation of imaging equipment while maintaining a focus on patient safety, comfort, and accuracy. The technician adheres to regulatory protocols and collaborates with clinical staff to ensure optimal diagnostic quality.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform routine and specialized radiographic examinations using appropriate imaging techniques.
• Prepare and position patients for X-rays to ensure correct exposure and minimal discomfort.
• Operate and maintain imaging equipment according to safety and manufacturer standards.
• Follow all radiation safety protocols to protect patients, staff, and self from unnecessary exposure.
• Document and maintain accurate records of patient procedures and imaging results.
• Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff to deliver timely and high-quality diagnostic images.
• Maintain cleanliness and readiness of imaging rooms and equipment.
• Ensure all imaging is conducted in compliance with HIPAA and healthcare regulatory standards.
• Educate patients on the imaging process and provide reassurance during procedures.
• Assist with equipment calibration and reporting of malfunctions or maintenance needs.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

• This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in radiologic technology or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of experience in a healthcare or radiology setting.
• Thorough knowledge of radiology equipment, diagnostic imaging techniques, and radiation safety procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety and technical protocols.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a clinical team environment.
• Fluency in English and Spanish preferred.
