Facilities Maintenance Supervisor in Laramie, Wyoming at City of Laramie

The City of Laramie is hiring for a Facilities Maintenance Supervisor who will give general administrative direction, to coordinate, direct, and oversee staff in providing mechanical and environmental upkeep of City Facilities.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coordinate, schedule, direct, and review the quality of work of Facilities staff responsible for maintenance and environmental upkeep of City Facilities.
• Develop and implement effective preventative maintenance schedules and employ, compile and organize maintenance records to maintain a regular schedule, minimize emergency breakdowns, and extend equipment lifespan.
• Train Facilities staff in the areas of work expectations, methods, procedures, and safety. Work with Crew Leader and other employees to maintain a high level of work, correct deficiencies and, when necessary, implement City discipline procedures.
• Manage inventory by ordering and tracking tools, equipment, and supplies.
  Ensure Facilities staff are properly equipped and directed in proper use, organization, and storage of materials.
• Assist with management of the budget by monitoring expenditures and obtaining necessary materials and services relative to the known budget; Oversee staff usage of funds and participate in the monthly rectifying of purchase card receipts and invoices.
• Coordinate, negotiate, and act as a point of contact with third party service providers when needed for specialized services including, but not limited to: Building contractors, plumbers, and electricians.
• Work with City building managers to arrive at maintenance and custodial solutions that meet expectations and that are as sustainable as possible within the confines of their respective budgets.

QUALIFICATIONS

• At least four years of progressively responsible experience in one of the following areas; building maintenance, environmental services, construction trades, or landscape and grounds maintenance.
• At least two years of experience in a leadership role, preferably in a facility maintenance setting.
• Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by specialized Training and/or in the area of maintenance lead.
• Certified Pool Operators Certificate
• CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications, or the ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire.
