Job Title: Floater

Department: Swinomish Convenience Enterprises

Reports to: Supervisor

Summary:

The floater is responsible for the stocking, cleaning and general upkeep of the store and fuel station grounds.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Floater:

• Stock main cooler, floor coolers and store goods.
• Collect and dispose of store and fuel dispenser trash.
• Collect and dispose of store cardboard.
• Freshen and replenish pump waters and fuel dispenser towels.
• Replace empty fuel dispenser receipt paper rolls.
• Check fuel dispensers for any deficiencies or damage.
• Fill propane containers for customers.
• Deal with gas spills at dispenser islands.
• Clean grounds around store and fuel dispensers
• Clean station restrooms and interior floor.
• Clean exterior surfaces of fuel dispensers.
• Alert supervisor of any broken of damaged items in and around gas station.
• Alert supervisor of any suspicious activity in and around gas station.
• Serve as back up cashier
• Other duties, as assigned.

Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Floater:

• Must be able to stand, bend, kneel, etc. for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Must have excellent cash handling and customer service skills.
• Must have a current food workers card.

Other Skills/Abilities:

Must be able to proficiently and safely operate propane fuel dispenser.

Requirements:

• Assist handicap customers with fueling needs.
• Give customers directions if asked.

Education and Experience:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school education preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must possess a Washington State Food Handler's Permit.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Able to deliver friendly, courteous, prompt customer service.
• Able to read, write, and perform simple math problems.
• Able to interpret, understand, and follow instructions and solve problems.
• Must pass criminal background check and oral drug screen.
