This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr. Project Manager (Federal Construction/MEP Focus) based in United States.

The Sr. Project Manager will lead high-value, full-lifecycle construction projects supporting federal facilities and government agencies.
This role combines project leadership, financial management, scheduling, field oversight, and client relationship management across complex technical projects.
You will oversee medium to large, multi-year initiatives involving electrical, mechanical, building-envelope, and related infrastructure work.
Working remotely with approximately 30% travel, you will visit active job sites for inspections, installation and startup activities, client meetings, and project assessments.
You will coordinate internal teams, subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel while maintaining rigorous safety, quality, budget, and schedule standards.
The position offers significant responsibility in a collaborative environment where strong execution and communication are essential to successful federal project delivery.
This is an opportunity for an experienced construction leader to manage complex programs across geographically dispersed and controlled-access facilities.

Accountabilities:
  • Manage medium to large, full-lifecycle turnkey projects, including financial reporting, budget control, operational coordination, issue resolution, and deadline management.
  • Lead project management activities from proposal development through resource planning, budgeting, forecasting, scheduling, execution, and project closeout.
  • Develop and maintain detailed traditional project schedules and comprehensive work plans.
  • Prepare proposal estimates and budgets based on project scope, resource requirements, and expected execution needs.
  • Present project strategies, adjustments, financial information, and estimates-to-complete to customers, executives, and other stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with federal customers and government stakeholders.
  • Observe and inspect construction activities to verify compliance with project requirements, quality standards, and safety expectations.
  • Directly or indirectly supervise project engineers, assistant project managers, superintendents, safety and quality-control personnel, foremen, field crews, subcontractors, and specialty vendors.
  • Coordinate project activities across geographically dispersed locations while managing multiple concurrent projects.
  • Conduct site visits for inspections, installation and startup activities, client meetings, and assessments of project progress and compliance.
  • Ensure projects meet applicable federal requirements, contractual obligations, safety standards, and established performance objectives.

Requirements:

  • 7–10 years of project management experience overseeing full-lifecycle, medium to large, complex, multi-year projects within the federal building-envelope sector.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Experience in Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) management.
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Project and/or Primavera P6.
  • Strong understanding of commercial and industrial infrastructure design, engineering, manufacturing, and construction processes.
  • Demonstrated experience managing electrical, mechanical, and building-envelope construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction safety practices and requirements.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to successfully complete background investigations, drug screening, and site-access requirements.
  • Ability to work at federal, military, correctional, industrial, and other controlled-access facilities.
  • Strong professional communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with government officials, commercial customers, subcontractors, field personnel, and executive leadership.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects across geographically dispersed locations.
  • PMP, Certified Construction Manager (CCM), or Certified Professional Constructor (CPC) certification is preferred.
  • Experience managing interior building construction projects involving electrical, fire suppression, and HVAC systems is preferred.
  • Experience with underground utilities, structural foundations, water/wastewater infrastructure, backup generators, and/or microgrids is a plus.
  • Experience managing building-envelope repairs, restorations, and roof replacement projects is preferred.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification is a plus.
  • Experience managing projects involving bonding, security clearances, Buy American requirements, or domestic material sourcing is desirable.
  • Convenient access to a major airport is preferred to support required travel.
  • Ability to visit active construction sites, including rooftop work areas, and navigate ladders, stairs, uneven surfaces, and elevated areas.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and inspect construction work for extended periods.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and wear required personal protective and fall-protection equipment.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds when necessary.
  • Ability to travel by automobile and commercial aircraft.
  • Eligibility to access required federal worksites and controlled facilities.

Benefits:

  • 100% remote work arrangement.
  • Approximately 30% travel to federal project sites and facilities.
  • Competitive pay and comprehensive total rewards.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Life and disability insurance.
  • Voluntary benefits, including critical illness, hospital, and accident coverage.
  • Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) options.
  • 401(k) retirement plan.
  • Paid leave programs for eligible full-time employees.
  • Flexible work-life balance programs.
  • Professional development opportunities.
  • Performance and recognition programs.
  • Collaborative work environment with a strong focus on employee support and development.
