Job Description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Systems Engineer based in India.
This is a hands-on systems engineering role focused on keeping a critical Middleware, Azure, and Windows Server environment stable, secure, and highly available.
You’ll manage production infrastructure, monitor systems, resolve incidents, and support application deployments and changes within established SLAs.
A major part of the role is identifying repetitive operational work and replacing it with scripting, cloud automation, and AI-assisted solutions.
You’ll work closely with engineers and database administrators while taking ownership of your own operational queue and escalating issues appropriately.
The position combines infrastructure administration, application support, monitoring, troubleshooting, and continuous service improvement.
You’ll also contribute to the development of AI agents that streamline alert triage, log analysis, documentation, and routine operations.
This is an opportunity to make a tangible impact in a structured, technology-driven environment where automation and responsible AI are central to modernizing operations.
Administer Azure infrastructure and PaaS workloads, including provisioning, resizing, decommissioning, configuration, scaling, deployments, resource tagging, cost optimization, and policy compliance.
Monitor and respond to alerts using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, LogicMonitor, Application Insights, and enterprise monitoring platforms, ensuring issues are triaged and addressed within SLA.
Investigate incidents using KQL, Windows Event Logs, application telemetry, and standard Azure and operating-system diagnostic tools; identify recurring issues and contribute to root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
Maintain monitoring coverage, dashboards, and workbooks, while identifying and recommending improvements to duplicate, ineffective, or non-actionable alerts.
Perform proactive health checks across applications, Windows servers, and Azure resources, including CPU, memory, disk, service status, certificates, backups, and overall system performance.
Write and maintain PowerShell automation for provisioning, health checks, reporting, scheduled tasks, cleanup, and other recurring administrative activities.
Develop or support Azure Automation Runbooks, Logic Apps, and Power Automate workflows, including appropriate authentication and failure monitoring.
Contribute to AI-agent initiatives for operational use cases such as log summarization, alert classification, incident-note drafting, and knowledge-base or runbook queries.
Apply prompt engineering and AI tools to accelerate scripting, configuration, and documentation while validating all AI-generated output before production use and following responsible-AI practices.
Administer Windows Server in Azure and hybrid environments, including IIS, application pools, bindings, virtual directories, logs, and basic performance troubleshooting.
Manage SSL/TLS certificates, including renewal, installation, binding, certificate-store administration, and expiry monitoring.
Support high-availability environments such as Windows Failover Clustering and SQL Server Always On in collaboration with engineering and database teams.
Follow ITIL-based incident, problem, and change-management processes in ServiceNow, including accurate change requests, approved maintenance windows, documentation, and timely completion.
Maintain and improve runbooks, SOPs, and knowledge articles, and provide clear shift handovers and stakeholder updates during incidents.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with a relevant technical background; healthcare or other regulated-industry experience is a plus.
4–6 years of experience in systems administration, application and infrastructure support, or cloud operations.
At least 4 years of hands-on production experience administering Azure; certification-only or lab experience is not sufficient.
At least 3 years of production Windows Server administration experience.
Required AZ-104: Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate certification.
Strong knowledge of Azure IaaS and PaaS administration, Windows Server, IIS, SSL/TLS certificates, monitoring, and infrastructure troubleshooting.
Practical experience with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and basic KQL query development.
Strong PowerShell skills, with the ability to independently create and modify scripts rather than simply execute existing ones.
Experience working in ticket-driven environments with SLAs and disciplined ITIL incident, problem, and change-management practices.
Practical experience using AI/LLM tools in a professional environment, including at least one example of automating or eliminating manual work.
Ability to diagnose complex technical issues, identify recurring problems, and proactively recommend improvements.
Clear written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate technical incidents effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Reliable, organized, proactive, and comfortable taking ownership while knowing when to escalate or ask for support.
Availability to work rotating 24×7 shifts, including planned maintenance windows and change events.
Preferred certifications include AZ-900, AI-900, ITIL Foundation, MCSA, or an equivalent Windows Server certification.
Fully remote position based in Pune or Baroda, India.
Full-time employment with an established international technology organization.
Competitive benefits package designed to support health, well-being, and professional development.
Opportunities to work with Azure, Windows, automation, AI/LLM technologies, and modern infrastructure practices.
Exposure to complex production environments and cross-functional collaboration with engineering and database teams.
Structured environment with opportunities to improve processes, automation, documentation, and operational reliability.
Company culture focused on empowerment, learning, collaboration, and meaningful contribution.
Financially stable organization with opportunities for continued professional growth.
Work-life balance supported through a range of employee benefits and wellness initiatives.
