  • Ensure compliance with client and retailer requirements, investigating chargebacks and implementing corrective actions where needed.
  • Maintain high standards of health and safety, site housekeeping and equipment compliance, supporting audits and investigating accidents and near misses.
  • Lead, coach and develop Team Leaders and warehouse operatives, managing attendance, performance and conduct in line with company policies.
  • Oversee staff onboarding and training, support new client implementations and deputise for the Warehouse Manager when required.
  • Work towards full site management responsibility, developing experience in budgeting, cost control, client relationships and operational reviews.

What we're looking for

  • Experience in a supervisory or junior management role within a warehouse, 3PL or logistics environment.
  • A proven track record of managing shift teams and delivering against operational KPIs and SLAs.
  • Working knowledge of WMS-driven operations, including picking, packing, inventory control and despatch.
  • An understanding of retailer compliance requirements, including routing guides, ASN accuracy and carton labelling.
  • Sound knowledge of UK health and safety requirements in a warehouse setting, with IOSH Managing Safely desirable.
  • Strong people management skills, with experience managing attendance, absence, performance and conduct.
  • A data-led and organised approach to planning, problem-solving and improving operational performance, with good Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to coach, motivate and develop a team.
  • A proactive and commercially aware mindset, with an understanding of labour planning, productivity and cost control.
  • A clear ambition to progress into a full Warehouse Manager role, with the drive and commitment to develop the skills needed to take on greater responsibility.
