About the Role

The Engineer Preventative Maintenance position is critical to ensuring that all guest rooms and associated facilities are maintained in optimal condition to provide a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for guests. This role focuses on proactively identifying and addressing potential maintenance issues before they escalate, thereby minimizing downtime and enhancing guest satisfaction. The successful candidate will conduct regular inspections, perform routine maintenance tasks, and coordinate repairs with other departments or external contractors as needed. By maintaining high standards of cleanliness, functionality, and safety, this role directly contributes to the overall reputation and operational efficiency of the hotel. Ultimately, the position supports the hotel's commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences through meticulous upkeep and preventative care of all room amenities and infrastructure.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience in general maintenance or facilities upkeep, preferably in a hospitality or accommodation setting.
• Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in HVAC, electrical, or plumbing trades.
• Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Familiarity with hotel operations and guest service standards.
• Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
• Basic knowledge of safety and building codes relevant to hospitality facilities.
• Flexible in work schedule; evenings, weekends and holidays - as needed and scheduled.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct scheduled inspections of guest rooms, including plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC units, furniture, and fixtures to identify maintenance needs.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs, fixing leaks, tightening fixtures, and servicing HVAC equipment.
• Document maintenance activities and report any significant issues or repairs required to the maintenance supervisor or management team.
• Coordinate with housekeeping and front desk teams to schedule maintenance activities with minimal disruption to guests.
• Assist in managing inventory of maintenance supplies and tools to ensure availability for timely repairs.
• Respond promptly to urgent maintenance requests to resolve issues affecting guest comfort and safety.
• Collaborate with external contractors for specialized repairs or inspections when necessary.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and hotel policies during all maintenance activities.
