Job Description
Position Summary
The Cleared Escort is a trusted and authorized professional responsible for ensuring the protection of security interests and safeguards within designated Limited Areas (LA). This role supports site security by escorting uncleared personnel, monitoring compliance with safety and security requirements, and enforcing established policies and procedures. Cleared Escorts must hold a DOE Q Clearance and are trained in the Escorting Program requirements to ensure all escorted personnel comply with security protocols at all times. You’ll be joining a dependable, security-focused team that takes its mission seriously, holds each other accountable, and takes pride in keeping every site safe and compliant.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Control and monitor assigned uncleared personnel, always maintaining visual contact.
- Control and oversee designated entrance and exit points for the facility.
- Ensure all safety and security procedures are followed, and halt work for any deviations.
- Assist the Security Office on special projects to achieve all mission objectives.
- Maintains current knowledge and awareness of security plans, emergency and operation procedures.
Qualifications
- Experience with security-related functions
- Familiarity with U.S. Government (USG) security practices and adaptability to evolving security policies and environments.
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Ability to perform administrative and clerical functions
- Ability to handle multiple visitors simultaneously
- Ability to work well under pressure or in difficult circumstances
- Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required
- Ability to complete required trainings
- Ability to work in confined areas, tanks, heat stress conditions, high noise and areas with radiation and chemical hazards
- Valid driver's license
- High School Diploma
- Must possess an active DOE "Q" or "L" clearance.

- Ability to lift and/or move:
- Up to 25 pounds
- Up to 50 pounds
- Ability to visually inspect and interpret data or details
- Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats
- May require:
- Exposure to extreme temperatures
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Work in elevated areas or confined spaces
- Extended periods of driving or travel
- Shift work, weekend availability, or on-call assignments
- Ability to remain in a stationary position (e.g., sitting or standing) for extended periods of time
- Ability to move throughout the work environment, including bending, reaching, walking, and climbing stairs
- Frequent use of hands to operate computer systems, tools, or equipment
