Job Description

The Head of Solutions Architecture will lead KORE's pre-sales architecture function globally and own the customer solution design discipline for the entire organization This role is responsible for managing and scaling a team of IoT Solutions Architects who partner with Sales to design, position, validate, and win IoT solutions deals across strategic verticals. In this role, you will be accountable for ensuring strong technical capability and credibility across KORE's portfolio, including cellular and satellite connectivity, connectivity management platforms, devices, networking, APIs, cloud technologies, and enterprise integrations.

As the technical leader for KORE's pre-sales efforts, you'll ensure customer solutions are technically sound, scalable, supportable, commercially sensible, and deliverable. For complex opportunities, you will be the technical authority, providing appropriate solution governance before commitments are made. This role connects customer pain points to technical outcomes, accelerates sales cycles, and positions KORE as the preferred partner while maintaining strong competency across telecommunications and IoT architecture, SIM/eSIM, carrier and roaming models, core network capabilities, connectivity platforms, device considerations, APIs and integrations, networking and security, and service lifecycle and billing implications.

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES

Team Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead and develop a team of IoT Solutions Architects, building strong technical capabilities across cellular and satellite connectivity, IoT platforms, devices, networking, APIs, cloud technologies, and enterprise integrations.
  • Create and establish repeatable best practices and frameworks that enable the team to reliably meet customer use case needs using KORE's products, services, and systems, while elevating solution quality, consistency, reuse, and speed to proposal.
  • Partner with Sales and Technology leadership to align technical resources to priority deals and ensure high-impact customer engagement.
  • Mentor and coach team members with a focus on technical depth, architectural thinking, customer credibility, effective deal execution. Hands-on management and coaching is critical for this role.
  • Create, define and manage measurable Solutions Architecture outcomes, including technical win rate, time to solution, proof-of-concept conversion, solution reuse, and reduction of post-sale solution gaps or changes.

Solution Architecture & Customer Engagement

  • Own the customer-facing technical strategy and solution design outcome for complex, multi-product IoT deals, serving as an executive-level technical resource and trusted advisor to position KORE to win.
  • Be accountable for solution architecture, technical validation, presentations, demonstrations, and proof-of-concept outcomes across cellular and satellite connectivity, SIM/eSIM technologies, IoT platforms, devices, networking, APIs, cloud integrations, and enterprise architectures.
  • Establish excellence in customer solution designs and documentation, from requirements gathering through non-functional requirements, assumptions, dependencies, implementation complexity, Statements of Work, and proposal contributions.
  • Lead the technical aspects of strategic account planning, resolve technical objections and gaps during complex evaluations, and build customer confidence in the proposed solution to help drive the technical win.
  • Act as the technical authority for large or complex opportunities, applying solution governance before customer commitments are made to ensure proposed solutions are scalable, supportable, commercially sensible, and aligned to KORE standards.
  • Own the pre-sales-to-delivery handoff, ensuring architecture, customer commitments, assumptions, dependencies, non-functional requirements, implementation complexity, and delivery risks are clearly documented, understood, and validated before execution begins.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Product, Network, and Engineering on complex or non-standard customer requirements, maintaining clear escalation paths while enabling the Solutions Architecture team to independently own standard pre-sales solution design.
  • Determine whether customer requirements can be addressed through existing product capability, configuration or integration, committed roadmap items, or genuinely require custom engineering; challenge unnecessary bespoke development and avoidable technical debt.
  • Translate field learnings into structured feedback and innovation requests for Product, Engineering, Network, and Marketing, influencing the company roadmap and broader solution strategy.
  • Represent the pre-sales function in go-to-market initiatives, CPQ upgrades, proposal automation, and pricing alignment efforts.
  • Contribute to content development for RFPs, sales collateral, and strategic partner integrations.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10+ years of technical solutioning or architecture experience, including previous experience leading pre-sales or Solutions Architecture teams;
  • Proven ability to lead customer-facing teams through complex enterprise sales processes, drive technical wins, and engage effectively at the executive level.
  • Strong technical and architectural foundations, with depth in one or more of: cellular or satellite connectivity, SIM/eSIM, IoT platforms, devices, networking and security, APIs and cloud, or enterprise integration.
  • Ability to quickly learn KORE's broader portfolio and build the required technical depth across the team; carrier, MVNO, roaming, connectivity lifecycle, and monetization experience is a plus.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Exceptional presentation and storytelling skills—able to distill complex technical value into compelling narratives that resonate with both engineers and executives.
  • A charismatic, customer-first presence that builds trust, creates excitement, and helps KORE stand out in competitive deal cycles. People want to listen to your ideas.
  • The ability to evangelize KORE’s portfolio—positioning our connectivity, platform, and device capabilities as uniquely differentiated and future-proof while inspiring customers to think beyond today's use cases and see what's possible with KORE.
  • Technically curious and able to go deep when needed into architecture, APIs, network behavior, platform capabilities, logs, and constraints, always from the customer's perspective.
  • High emotional intelligence and poise under pressure, especially when navigating ambiguity, technical objections, or C-level discussions.
  • Previous experience coaching and developing Solutions Architects with demonstrable impact on revenue.
  • Proven ability to communicate with stakeholders across levels, including C-Suite leaders and other key decision makers.
  • Ability to create a cohesive operating environment across Sales, Pre-Sales, Marketing, Technology and Product.
  • A bias towards action and solutions thinking.
