Pacific Coast Producers (PCP), a growing agricultural cooperative with food production facilities across the West Coast, is seeking an experienced and talented Wastewater Supervisor to join its team at its The Dalles, OR facilities. We are looking for an experienced Wastewater Supervisor to lead our day-to-day wastewater treatment operations and ensure strict environmental compliance. In this role, you will supervise union operators, oversee system maintenance and solids removal, conduct lab testing, and manage pond operations to meet DEQ, EPA, and NPDES standards. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, a hands-on mechanical aptitude, and a solid background in chemical/biological wastewater processes.

What You'll Do:

  • Monitor operations of the wastewater treatment facilities to ensure safe practices and state and federal guidelines are followed.
  • Supervise, train and develop wastewater operators
  • Maintain all DEQ and EPA guidelines within the Clean Water Act. Control off-site odors to comply with DEQ guidelines.
  • Conduct daily lab testing and manage outsourced testing for DEQ requirements
  • Complete monthly DEQ forms and assist WW Manager with required end of year reports.
  • Collect, prepare and mail samples to outside lab as directed.
  • Oversee operation and maintenance of solids removal system, solids disposal and provide for economical removal of sludge from wastewater.
  • Manage ponds to maintain permit compliance while treating continuous and variable production flows.
  • Maintain chemical inventories for wastewater use.
  • Perform process monitoring and associated documentation.
  • Supervise and perform wastewater discharges in compliance with NPDES regulations.
  • Ensure that all safety rules are enforced and notify management of any issues.
  • Maintain a clean, organized and hazard-free work environment.

What You'll Bring to the Team:

  • Associate's degree and 3+ years of wastewater operations experience.
  • Possess good math skills; i.e., calculate dilutions, ppm, COD, BOD.
  • Knowledge of chemistry and microbiology techniques.
  • Must demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills for machinery and processes.
  • Knowledge of commonly used classes of chemicals, appropriate use and concentration.
  • Knowledge of hygiene standards/protocol for food safety.
  • Must demonstrate problem solving skills and effectively handle conflict/stressful situations.
  • Possess good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must demonstrate good leadership skills and an ability to work effectively with others.
  • Valid driver's license required with a clean driving record to facilitate travel between company locations and transport employees as necessary.

Physical Requirements

Frequent physical activity includes sitting, walking, using a keyboard, touching, hearing, and speaking. Moderate physical activity includes standing, stooping, lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.

Compensation:

$70,000 to $80,000 per year (DOE); profit-sharing bonus-eligible. This is a full-time, exempt, on-site role at our The Dalles, OR facilities.

Note - The base salary range reflects the reasonable expectation for what Pacific Coast Producers anticipates paying for this role at the time of posting. The actual salary offered will depend on factors including, but not limited to:

  • Relevant skills, education, and experience;
  • Job-related qualifications and certifications;

  • Market conditions and business needs.
