SHUTTLE DRIVER

Reports To: Human Resources Manager
Department: Human Resources
Status: Part-Time Seasonal (Winter 26/27)

Pay Range: $21.00 - $23.50 per hour

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Shuttle Driver is responsible for transporting employees to and from work using company passenger vans. Drivers perform daily operational checks, safely operate vehicles within posted speed limits and practice defensive driving appropriate for varying winter weather and road conditions. Drivers run routes with scheduled times and make stops at the local grocery store, employee housing locations, post office, and other stops as needed. Drivers also provide periodic employee transportation to/from Denver International Airport, the Social Security office, and other locations outside Grand County for day trips.

Requirements:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Operates passenger vans following all motor vehicle laws of the State of Colorado.
  • Completes pre-operational vehicle checks before each shift and refuels vehicle.
  • Transports employees to and from work and to other designated locations, such as the local grocery store and post office.
  • Communicates delays in running routes in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for keeping the shuttle vans clean. Includes removing trash and sweeping floors daily and performing detailed cleaning as needed, which includes wiping down seats, washing windows inside and out, cleaning cup holders, dashboard, floors, and exterior.
  • Transports employees to/from locations outside of Grand County as needed, including the Denver International Airport, Social Security office, and day-off trips to other ski resorts, Denver, and to a variety of cultural activities.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists with Facilities and/or Mountain Operations duties as assigned between routes, including directing cars in parking lots, shoveling snow, maintaining cleanliness of patio areas (straightening chairs/tables and picking up trash) and providing guest shuttle transportation between the outer parking lots and the base of the resort.
  • Picks up/drops off company mail at the local post office.
  • Maintains an exceptional level of guest service in all interaction with guests, fellow employees, and management.
  • Assists and supports other departments for races, events and operations on high volume days.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to safely drive at night and in varying winter weather conditions.
  • Knowledge and application of defensive driving skills.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Must be between the ages of 25 and 70 years of age and be insurable under the company’s insurance.
  • Must have a valid US Driver’s License and acceptable motor vehicle record check.
  • Must have at least 5 years of driving experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, push, shovel snow, and carry.
  • Ability to hear and verbally communicate with others in the English language.
  • Ability to read traffic signs and written instructions in English.
  • Vision sufficient for driving, with or without corrective lenses, including night driving.
  • Shifts typically vary between two (2) and eight (8) hours per day and fall between the hours of 6:30 am – 11 pm. Split shifts are available (mornings, afternoons, evenings).
  • Shifts may require work on weekends, evenings, and holidays.
