The Role
As the Care Assistant you will provide care and support to people in their own homes with a variety of care needs, as per their bespoke care plan.
Our purpose is to provide high-quality, person-centred care and support to individuals within their own homes, enabling them to remain as independent, safe, comfortable, and fulfilled as possible.
The Care Assistant will promote dignity, respect, choice and independence at all times, whilst ensuring the physical, emotional and social wellbeing of the people they support.
This role can include lone working.
Your responsibilities will include:
Assist individuals with personal care tasks including washing, bathing, showering, dressing, grooming and oral hygiene.
Support with toileting and continence care in a dignified and respectful manner.
Assist with mobility and transfers in accordance with care plans and moving and handling training.
Support individuals to maintain their appearance and self-esteem.
Administer, prompt or assist with medication in accordance with company policies, procedures and training.
Complete medication records accurately and report any concerns immediately.
Ensure medication is stored and handled safely.
Prepare meals, snacks and drinks in accordance with individual preferences and dietary requirements.
Monitor and report any concerns regarding food or fluid intake.
Assist with household tasks including light cleaning, laundry, bed making, and maintaining a safe living environment.
Support individuals with shopping, collecting prescriptions, and attending appointments where required.
Assist with maintaining a clean and comfortable home environment.
Build positive and professional relationships with individuals and their families.
Provide companionship, conversation, and emotional support.
Promote well-being and reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation.
Safeguard individuals from abuse, neglect, discrimination, and harm.
Maintain accurate and timely care records using electronic systems.
Report changes in an individual's condition, well-being or circumstances.
Communicate effectively with colleagues, healthcare professionals and family members as appropriate.
Attend team meetings, supervision sessions and training as required.
Act as a positive ambassador.
Maintain professional boundaries and conduct.
Hours and Pay
The salary for this role is £25,565 per annum. With mileage paid at £0.25 per mile and £12.07 per hour for travel time.
You will be contracted to work 37.5 hours per week, across 5 days. This will include some weekends.
Location
This role is based in Sudbury and the surrounding villages.
