Senior Finance Manager, Public Sector

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Finance Manager, Public Sector based in the United States.

This role sits at the intersection of finance, strategy, and public sector go-to-market execution, supporting high-impact sales organizations in a complex, data-driven environment. The Senior Finance Manager will act as a key financial partner to leadership teams across Federal and State/Local/Education segments, providing insights that shape revenue strategy and operational decisions. You will own forecasting, performance analysis, and executive reporting, translating large and complex datasets into clear business narratives. The role requires strong cross-functional collaboration with sales, product, and operations teams to ensure alignment on revenue goals and execution priorities. Operating in a fast-paced and accountability-driven setting, you will influence senior stakeholders and help drive disciplined financial planning. This is a highly visible position where your insights directly inform strategic decisions and business performance outcomes.

Accountabilities:
  • Serve as the primary FP&A business partner to Public Sector Sales leadership, delivering insights on financial performance, revenue trends, and key risks and opportunities.
  • Own revenue forecasting processes, including MRR, usage, and one-time revenue streams, ensuring accuracy and alignment with pipeline and bookings data.
  • Conduct detailed variance analysis and performance tracking to explain financial results and inform strategic decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain sales and funnel analytics, including pipeline coverage, conversion rates, productivity metrics, and segment performance.
  • Create executive-level reporting and dashboards that clearly communicate financial performance, trends, and business drivers.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Product, and Operations to align pricing, go-to-market strategies, and revenue realization.
  • Support and contribute to team development and continuous improvement of FP&A processes, tools, and reporting standards.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in FP&A, financial analysis, or strategic finance roles, including exposure to senior stakeholders and leadership responsibilities.
  • Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
  • Proven ability to influence business decisions through data-driven insights and clear financial storytelling.
  • Experience partnering with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information to executive audiences.
  • Experience in sales finance, public sector, or go-to-market organizations is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Excel, SAP, Power BI, or similar financial systems is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outputs under tight deadlines.
  • Prior experience mentoring or supporting junior team members is an advantage.
