Job Description SummaryResponsible for delivery, pick up, inventory, cleaning, repair, maintenance of all organization owned durable medical equipment and DME vans. Responsible for the management and record keeping of current inventory and location of all durable medical equipment.
Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities
- Ensures timely delivery and pick up of all durable medical equipment to/from the clients place of living.
- Ensures that equipment is maintained, kept up, repaired and disposed of at appropriate times and in the appropriate fashion.
- Maintains comprehensive working document of current inventory and exact location of every piece of equipment.
- Transport all equipment to and from the van and clients places of living.
- Should be able to lift up to and including 75 pounds on an occasional basis, 50 pounds on an intermittent basis, and 30 pounds on a frequent basis. Should be able to bend, lift, twist, crawl, grasp, grip, etc. as needed to perform the functions listed herein.
- Maintains comprehensive working knowledge of proper use, guidelines and maintenance procedures for all durable medical equipment.
- Has a drivers license and working knowledge of DME van and drives within the laws of the community.
- Provides appropriate repair and maintenance of the DME van at the appropriate times.
- Provides maintenance and repair of other vehicles as required.
- Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with patients, family members, associates and referral sources.
- Protects the confidentiality of patient and organization information through effective controls and consistent with HIPPA guidelines.
- Attends regular meetings, training sessions, compliance training and any other meetings required.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma or GED
- Valid and current drivers license with clean record
- Demonstrated ability to operate vehicle safely and appropriately.
- Demonstrates good communication, negotiation, and public relations skills.
- Demonstrated capability to accurately manage detailed information.
- Able to deal tactfully with patients, family members and referral sources.
- Demonstrates autonomy, organization, assertiveness, flexibility and cooperation in performing job responsibilities.
