Description:

About the Role

We are hiring Event Staff for Mercantile Hall! Event Staff Members play a direct and integral role in making each couple’s wedding day shine while supporting the smooth, safe, and welcoming operation of the venue.

This position is best suited for someone looking for steady, year round, weekend work who enjoys being part of a reliable and joyful team. We invest in training our Event Staff and value individuals who want to grow with us, so this is not a seasonal or summer-only role.

Scheduling and Shifts

We have three shifts for Event Staff at each of our weddings:

  • Morning Shift: 7:00am to 12:00pm
  • Afternoon Shift: 1:00pm to 6:00pm
  • Closing Shift: 7:00pm to 1:00am

Candidates must be available to work both morning & afternoon shifts, or just closing shifts on a day on days they are available.

While weekend availability is a general requirement, most Event Staff are scheduled for two of the three days each weekend. Currently, our highest availability need is on Fridays, particularly morning and afternoon shifts!

Role Description

Event Staff Members support all phases of a wedding day at Mercantile Hall. During the morning shift, staff prepare the venue for the couple and their vendors. After a short break, staff return for the afternoon shift to assist the Event Manager with transitioning the space from ceremony to reception. The final shift is the closing shift, where Event Staff assist the Closing Captain with tear down and resetting the venue.

Mercantile Hall events often involve both indoor and outdoor spaces, so adaptability and awareness of the environment are important. Staff help maintain a polished, welcoming atmosphere throughout the entire property.

Because weddings are once in a lifetime events, this role requires reliability, professionalism, and strong attention to detail. Event Staff are expected to follow direction, respect established processes, and contribute to an environment that feels calm, organized, and guest focused, even during fast paced moments.

This is a long term, year round role for individuals who value consistency and take pride in contributing to meaningful celebrations.
