Position SummaryWe are seeking a motivated, dependable, and flexible individual for a Float Medical Assistant position supporting our San Antonio Region. This role provides coverage for our Northeast, Sonterra, Northwest, Alamo Ranch, Southwest, Cibolo, and New Braunfels clinic locations. The ideal candidate enjoys variety, is comfortable traveling between clinics, and is committed to providing exceptional patient care.
Medical Assistants are responsible for delivering high-quality patient care while creating a positive patient experience. This role also supports daily laboratory operations with accuracy and attention to detail. The ideal candidate is adaptable, enjoys working with patients and providers, possesses basic computer skills, and is willing to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and Saturdays.
Responsibilities- Perform manual vital signs, routine venipuncture, and administer intramuscular and subcutaneous injections as directed by the provider.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, quality controls, and accurate documentation of lab results.
- Process in-house laboratory testing or prepare specimens for outside laboratories with appropriate documentation.
- Complete weekly inventory counts and assist with ordering supplies.
- Support front desk operations as needed.
- Maintain a positive, patient-focused attitude and strong work ethic.
- Travel between clinic locations as needed to provide staffing support.
- Must be willing and able to travel between our Northeast, Sonterra, Northwest, Alamo Ranch, Southwest, Cibolo, and New Braunfels clinic locations.
- Physical copy of a high school diploma or GED is required.
- Medical Assistant or Phlebotomy Certification is preferred but not required.
- Minimum of 3 months of relevant medical experience or documented completion of 180 externship hours.
- Experience performing venipuncture and administering intramuscular and subcutaneous injections is preferred.
- Must successfully pass a background check.
- Must be flexible with clinic schedules, including late shifts and up to three Saturdays per month. When scheduled on a Saturday, you'll receive a weekday off.
