Job Title: Therapist I

Department: Community Based Correction Services (CBCS)

Shift: Part-Time Within a M-F 8AM to 5PM Schedule Plus Hybrid Options Available
We are seeking a part-time onsite candidate, and are open to discussing flexible hybrid arrangements for the right individual. Ideally, candidates should be within a reasonable driving distance and able to work in-office at least once per week. Additional flexible scheduling options can be considered based on the candidate’s needs.

In this role, you will provide essential clinical services to individuals involved in the corrections system, supporting their rehabilitation and reintegration into the community. Salary: Therapist I annual salary is $60-$70K depending on experience. Therapist II-IV salaries are at higher pay grades, and are obtained with more than three years of experience. Additionally, 5% increase to wage calculation for Therapists who are licensed in the State of Oregon.

Qualifications Required: Must meet one of the following qualifications to become a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP). Direct information about credential requirements can be found at www.MHACBO.org.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Therapeutic Service Delivery: Provide individual, group, and family psychotherapy, case management services, and parent support workshops to clients in the correctional system.
  • Assessment & Intervention: Conduct mental health assessments, including bio-psycho-social evaluations, risk assessments (suicide, violence, etc.), and develop treatment plans tailored to each client’s needs.
  • Collaborative Care: Work effectively as part of a treatment team, coordinating care with other professionals, corrections staff, and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to client rehabilitation.
  • Behavioral Modification & Crisis Intervention: Implement evidence-based practices to help clients address criminal behavior, manage stress, and reduce recidivism. Provide intervention and support in crisis situations, ensuring safety and well-being.
  • Service Planning & Monitoring: Develop and monitor individualized treatment plans, setting measurable goals and objectives. Track progress, adjust interventions, and update plans as needed.
  • Communication & Reporting: Communicate effectively with corrections staff, social service agencies, and monitoring bodies, providing clear, consistent updates on client progress.
  • Rehabilitation Focused Care: Provide rehabilitation-focused counseling and support, including addressing substance use, anger management, trauma, and mental health issues, with a focus on reducing re-offending behaviors.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate, timely clinical records that comply with legal, ethical, and regulatory standards.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: If the employee is an unlicensed therapist or is not actively in the licensing process, employee must meet the requirements to become MHACBO QMHP-C Certified and maintain certification. This must be maintained for the length of employment.
