Job Description
State Utility Contractors, a leading utility contractor in the Carolinas and a 100% employee-owned company, is seeking motivated Skilled Laborers to join our Pipeline Division. We specialize in the installation of water, sewer, and storm drainage infrastructure and are looking for individuals who take pride in quality workmanship, safety, and teamwork.
As a Skilled Laborer, you will work alongside experienced crews installing underground utilities and supporting daily construction operations. Whether you have previous pipeline experience or are looking to start a career in utility construction, we are looking for dependable, hardworking individuals who are willing to learn, take direction, and grow within our organization.
Responsibilities- Assist with the installation of water, sewer, and storm drainage pipe.
- Perform excavation support, grading, material handling, and site cleanup.
- Safely use hand and power tools required for underground utility construction.
- Work closely with pipe layers, equipment operators, and foremen to complete projects efficiently.
- Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional job site.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the foreman or superintendent.

- Experience installing water and sewer pipeline is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work safely around heavy equipment and within active construction sites.
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
- Strong work ethic with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Dependable and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel to project locations as needed.
- Available to work overtime, nights, and weekends when required.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to routinely lift 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds.
