About the Role:
The Evening Janitor plays a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment within a manufacturing facility during the evening hours. This position ensures that all designated areas, including production floors, restrooms, break rooms, and offices, are thoroughly cleaned and organized to support operational efficiency and employee well-being. The janitor will be responsible for performing routine cleaning tasks, waste disposal, and minor maintenance duties to uphold facility standards. By working during off-peak hours, the Evening Janitor helps prepare the facility for the next day’s operations, minimizing disruptions and promoting a productive workplace. This role requires attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work independently while adhering to safety protocols and company policies.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in janitorial or custodial work, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Ability to operate cleaning machinery such as floor scrubbers and vacuum cleaners.
- Capability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds safely.
- Availability to work evening shifts consistently.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in occupational safety or hazardous materials handling.
- Experience with environmentally friendly cleaning products and practices.
- Basic knowledge of facility maintenance and minor repair tasks.
- Strong communication skills to effectively report issues and coordinate with team members.
- Demonstrated reliability and strong work ethic in previous roles.
Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive cleaning of floors, walls, windows, and surfaces using appropriate cleaning agents and equipment.
- Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste in accordance with company and environmental guidelines.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and common areas to maintain hygiene standards.
- Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or supply shortages to the facility management team promptly.
- Ensure all cleaning equipment is properly maintained and stored after use.
- Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) during cleaning tasks.
- Assist with setup or breakdown of equipment or furniture as needed during cleaning shifts.
