The Supply Planner is responsible for ensuring material availability to support production requirements while balancing inventory investment and supply chain performance. Working closely with Planning, Procurement, Manufacturing, Logistics, and other cross-functional teams, the Supply Planner develops and maintains supply plans, identifies and mitigates supply risks, and supports operational performance through data-driven decision making. The Supply Planner embraces a culture defined by safety, quality, teamwork, and accountability.
In this role you will:
- Review short, medium, and long-term supply plans based on customer demand, production schedules, and inventory targets.
- Analyze ERP/MRP outputs and validate material requirements.
- Create and maintain supply plans to ensure material availability while minimizing excess inventory.
- Monitor and maintain planning parameters including lead times, lot sizes, safety stock levels, and reorder points.
- Identify material shortages and supply constraints that could impact production schedules or customer deliveries.
- Develop and coordinate mitigation and recovery plans with Planning, Procurement, Suppliers, and Manufacturing teams.
- Escalate supply risks and provide recommendations to stakeholders.
- Monitor supplier delivery performance and support corrective actions where required.
- Support continuity of supply initiatives for high-risk and long lead-time components.
- Collaborate with Production Planning to ensure material availability aligns with the Master Production Schedule (MPS).
- Support production ramp-ups, engineering changes, rate increases, and new program launches.
- Participate in daily and weekly operational meetings to review priorities, supply risks, and material status.
- Coordinate with Logistics and Receiving teams to ensure timely material flow into production.
- Support inventory accuracy initiatives, cycle count investigations, and inventory optimization efforts.
- Participate in the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process by providing material availability and supply capacity assessments.
- Analyze demand changes and determine impacts on inventory, supplier capacity, and production schedules.
- Develop and maintain planning reports, dashboards, supplier performance metrics, and material availability KPIs.
- Analyze trends related to inventory levels, shortages, supplier performance, and demand variability.
- Maintain planning data integrity within ERP systems.
- Identify opportunities to improve planning processes, inventory management, and supply chain performance.
- Participate in root cause investigations related to material shortages and inventory discrepancies.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Support customer, regulatory, and internal audits as required.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
You have:
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in supply planning, production planning, materials management, procurement, or supply chain operations.
- Experience working within ERP/MRP environments.
- Experience supporting manufacturing or production operations.
- Experience in aerospace, defense, manufacturing, composites, or other complex regulated industries is considered an asset.
- Strong understanding of Materials Requirements Planning (MRP), Master Production Scheduling (MPS), inventory management, and supply chain planning principles.
- Knowledge of demand and supply balancing, capacity planning, and supplier performance management.
- Proficiency with ERP systems such as Epicor, SAP, Oracle, or equivalent systems.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience with Power BI or similar analytical tools is considered an asset.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and stakeholder management abilities.
- High attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to drive positive change.
- APICS CPIM, APICS CSCP, SCMP, or Lean Manufacturing certification is considered an asset.
