Job Description

Imagineeer is a fast-growing SBA 8(a) Small Disadvantaged Business headquartered in Arlington, VA, delivering federal AI modernization across health, defense, homeland security, and transportation. We design, test, and deploy secure, AI-ready systems that move agencies from pilots to production without breaking governance, compliance, or mission continuity. Our Mission Studio model creates shared environments where policy, data, security, and operations come together. We are capability-driven and competitive by design, not program-dependent. Our leadership has operated inside the federal systems we now transform, bringing institutional knowledge that accelerates delivery and reduces risk. If real delivery motivates you more than slides, and you want your work to compound across programs and agencies, Imagineeer is growing and we are building the team to match.

About the role

Imagineeer is seeking a Senior Configuration Manager to establish and maintain configuration control across an acquisition transformation engagement for a federal civilian department. From day one you will put every project work product under version control, and you will carry that discipline through current-state baselines, a two-tool pilot, and production configuration of the selected tools.

You will own the configuration control checkpoint in the firm's decision methodology: every configuration item is baselined, versioned, and changed only through an approved change record.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish version control over all project work products and a change control log for scope, schedule, and deliverable changes on the first day of performance.
  • Co-author the Integrated Change Management, Training, and Configuration Management Plan.
  • Establish the current-state configuration baseline for in-scope systems, tools, and interfaces, including versions, customizations, integrations, and configuration ownership.
  • Document configuration dependencies that must be addressed before any capability is retired or consolidated.
  • Assess candidate tools' administrator configurability, version management, and release management practices.
  • Coordinate every proposed configuration change with the client's established change control and security processes; no change is made to client systems without Government approval.
  • Establish the pilot configuration baseline, version control, and change control records.
  • Maintain production configuration baselines, release management, and monthly configuration records during implementation, routing every change through the client's change control and security processes.
  • Perform configuration status accounting and monthly audits, assign versions and review histories to every deliverable, and transfer baselines and records at transition.
  • Work with AMS/PRISM, the client's contract writing and acquisition management environment, including its interfaces and configuration baselines, Acquisition systems of record: FPDS-NG, SAM.gov, and CPARS

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in information systems, engineering, or a related field.
  • 10 or more years of configuration management experience covering configuration identification, baselining, change control, status accounting, and audits.
  • Working knowledge of configuration management standards such as SAE/EIA-649.
  • Experience with version control and change management tools (e.g., Git, ServiceNow, Jira).
  • Experience managing configuration for both documentation and deployed systems or SaaS platforms.
  • Ability to pass the client's contractor security vetting and obtain and maintain a PIV credential.

Desired Skills and Competencies:
• CMII or equivalent configuration management certification; ITIL Foundation.

• Experience supporting federal change control boards and FedRAMP or ATO-bound systems.

• Experience with release management for commercial SaaS tools in a federal setting.

• Experience defining sustainment configuration and release management for a steady-state operating model.

Additional Information:

Employment for this position is contingent upon the candidate being a United States citizen and having the ability to successfully obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance, in accordance with applicable federal regulations. We use AI to review resumes. All hiring decisions will be made in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations

Equal Opportunity Employer:

We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and do not discriminate in employment decisions on the basis of race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, sexual orientation, or gender identity), national origin, age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, or any other status protected by applicable federal, state, or local laws. All employment decisions are based on business needs, job requirements, and individual qualifications.
