Summer Adventures Facilitators provide exemplary leadership and foster a safe and inclusive environment for all youth program participants. Instructors lead and facilitate climbing instruction, games, and activities across all youth programs and are expected to follow and uphold all BP rules and policies related to youth instruction and programs.

Requirements:
  • Bringing about safe play for all the campers attending camp over the Summer Camp
  • Facilitate check-in, waivers, rental shoes, facility rules and orientation with Youth Program participants.
  • Instruct full day Youth Program sessions in collaboration with/under the guidance of the Programs Manager.
  • Participate in individual and group coaching of scheduled groups.
  • Provide excellent customer service to all families entering the DC Bouldering Project facility.
  • Maintain regular communication with Program Leadership regarding youth programming at BP.
  • Communicate with youth participants and their families in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Provide ongoing feedback to youth, their families, and Program Leadership regarding the needs and development of youth programs participants.
  • Attend a training shift before your first shift.
  • Be available at least 7 of the 10 weeks between June 22nd - August 24th 2026.
  • Camp shifts are generally 7.5 hours in length Mon-Fri between the hours of 8:00am and 6:30pm.
  • Must be dependable, responsible, and punctual.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • 18 years of age
  • Enjoy working with youth (ages 4-14)
  • Available to work evenings
  • Previous youth experience is preferred
  • Previous physical education teaching is preferred.
