Engineering Technician - Amarillo at New Tech Global Staffing – Amarillo, Texas

New Tech Global Staffing is currently seeking a Construction Materials Testing Technician for a client located in Amarillo, TX to join our team. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity.

Pay: $25/hour
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 40 hours/week from 8am to 5pm

Responsible for performing field testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials such as soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel. This role supports quality assurance and compliance with project specifications while maintaining safety and communication standards.

• Perform field testing and inspection of construction materials.
• Communicate effectively with project managers, technicians, client representatives, and contractors.
• Transport material samples to the laboratory with proper documentation.
• Prepare and submit written and digital reports daily.
• Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles, and work areas.
• Assist with scheduling and dispatching technicians as needed.
• Follow strict safety protocols and report any safety concerns.
• Progressively take on more responsibility through training and experience.
• Ensure quality standards are upheld on all projects.

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 6 months of related experience.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Must obtain ACI Certification within 90 days of hire.
• Successful completion of internal safety certifications.
• Preferred: Nuclear Density Gauge Certification within 6 months of hire.
