The Rubin Institute for Advanced Orthopedics (RIAO) is a renowned orthopedic center located at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. We offer comprehensive care for both adults and children, including specialized services such as limb lengthening, joint preservation and replacement, and hand and upper extremity surgery.

Medical Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our orthopedic practice and play an essential role in supporting healthcare providers and enhancing the patient experience. The ideal candidate will assist with patient intake, prepare patients for exams, record medical histories, take vital signs, and prepare treatment rooms. Additionally, this role includes assisting with minor procedures, managing orthopedic equipment, and providing education on post-treatment care and rehabilitation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with patient intake, including documenting medical histories, symptoms, and concerns.
• Prepare patients for exams and procedures, ensuring comfort and safety.
• Perform routine assessments, such as taking vital signs (blood pressure, weight, height), and documenting patient information.

Requirements:

• Less than 1 year of relevant experience (new graduates encouraged to apply).
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent training.
• Knowledge of orthopedic terminology and procedures is a plus.
