About the Role:

The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) plays a critical role in supporting licensed Physical Therapists by delivering high-quality rehabilitative care to patients recovering from injury, surgery, or managing chronic conditions. This position focuses on implementing treatment plans designed to improve patients' mobility, reduce pain, and restore function under the supervision of a Physical Therapist. The PTA works closely with patients in various settings, including outpatient clinics, to ensure exercises and therapeutic interventions are performed safely and effectively. Minimum Qualifications:

  • Completion of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
  • Current state licensure or certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
  • Basic knowledge of rehabilitation principles and physical therapy techniques.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and work under the supervision of a Physical Therapist.
  • Physical capability to lift and carry heavy weights as required during patient care.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in an outpatient physical therapy setting.
  • Familiarity with voluntary insurance programs related to physical therapy services.
  • Strong eye-hand coordination to assist patients with precise therapeutic activities.
  • Demonstrated compassion and excellent interpersonal skills in patient care.
  • Additional certifications in specialized therapy techniques or modalities.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist Physical Therapists in executing individualized treatment plans tailored to patient needs.
  • Guide patients through therapeutic exercises and activities to improve strength, flexibility, and coordination.
  • Monitor patient progress and report any changes or concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of treatments, patient responses, and any incidents.
  • Ensure compliance with universal precautions and safety protocols to protect patients and staff.
  • Prepare and maintain therapy equipment and treatment areas to support efficient clinical operations.
  • Educate patients and their families on exercises and safety measures to continue rehabilitation at home.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to coordinate patient care and optimize outcomes.
