About This Position
If you ask most people how they feel about their health insurance, the answer is usually frustrated. Long waits, confusing portals, surprise bills, and constant uncertainty about cost. It’s one of the few products people pay thousands for but dread using.
AI has changed how people access health information - you can ask about symptoms, compare treatment options, and get nutrition guidance in seconds. But chatbots can’t order labs, prescribe medications, or coordinate benefits. And incumbent insurers are years behind on modern, consumer-grade experiences.
Arlo is building a new front door to healthcare: an AI-first experience that decodes your benefits, estimates costs before care, and books the right provider, then closes the loop with human clinicians to make sure care actually happens. Because we pair this with a full-stack insurance product, coverage, navigation, and payment work together instead of fighting each other.
Our approach is working. We’ve grown from zero to tens of thousands of members in under a year, and we are just getting started. If you’re excited to fundamentally rebuild a system that impacts millions, we’d love to talk.
What you’ll doAs our Founding Product Designer, you will be the architect of our member experience and the champion of our brand. You will own the entire design process, shaping a product that brings clarity and empathy to one of the most confusing parts of life.
To give you a sense of the challenges you'll solve, here are some initial projects:AI-Powered Triage: Design a clear and empathetic conversational experience that guides anxious members from confusing symptoms to the right setting of care. Your challenge is to build trust and provide reassurance through an intuitive, guided flow. The Infinitely Patient Care Partner: Transform complex medical information—like lab results and treatment plans—into simple, digestible, and empowering conversations. You will design an interface that makes our AI feel like a knowledgeable and trusted healthcare companion. Proactive Health Engine: Design a system of proactive and personalized health outreach. Your work will replace static, soulless reminders with engaging notifications, progress tracking, and educational content that feels personal, not programmatic.
What We’re Looking ForWe're looking for a product-first designer who thrives on turning complex problems into simple, elegant, and empathetic user experiences.
Why You'll Love Building at ArloSolve a Problem That Matters. Healthcare is one of the most personal and broken parts of modern life. You won't just be writing code; you'll be building a product that directly improves people's lives during their most vulnerable moments. We’re looking for people who feel the urgency of this mission and are driven to do the hard, gritty work to solve it. Own Outcomes, Not Tickets. We hire great people and give them the context and freedom to do their best work. You will own entire problem areas end-to-end, from understanding member needs to shipping the solution. This is a role for someone who wants to define the what and the why, not just execute on the how. Shape Our Trajectory. We have product-market fit and are growing faster than we can keep up. Joining now means you’ll have an outsized impact not just on our product, but on our engineering culture and the future of the company itself. Build with an A-Team. You’ll work alongside a tight-knit, high-performing team of engineers, designers, and operators who are as passionate about our mission as you are.
