About This Position

The Material Handler position provides a unique opportunity for the growth of team members by allowing them to become familiar with the Guardiar line of products. Material Handlers for the E-commerce business will work closely with Shipping, Receiving, Inventory Control, Quality Assurance, Production, and Logistics to service all inbound and outbound shipments in a safe, accurate, and timely manner and assist with the proper movement / placement of inventory while keeping their corresponding work areas clean and organized.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Use all tools / machinery in a safe, intentional, and effective manner
  • Communicate all safety-related issues that arise to management
  • Keep all work areas clean and organized
  • Ensure proper movement of materials within the plant at all times
  • Use the ERP system to Print pick orders, BOL to fulfill orders
  • Quality check all orders and follow with the quality procedures and maintain documentation
  • Pack and print labels for UPS or FedEx orders
  • Maintain cycle counts and is accountable of the inventory that is on the 3PL.
  • Provide spotting assistance when necessary
  • Properly locate, verify, pick, repackage and/or relabel (if necessary), and/or stage materials to be shipped
  • Properly sign, date, and time-stamp all handled paperwork
  • Follow all guidelines per the Distribution / E-commerce Department’s SOP (Standard Operating Procedure)*
  • Assist Receiving during initial put-away process once materials are received into inventory (if necessary)
  • Assist Inventory Control with location, movement, repackaging, and/or relabeling of materials (if necessary)
  • Manage and maintain proper documentation for damage material and communicate to the Plant Manager to determine next steps.

  • Eliminate accidents related to improper use of tools / machinery
  • Shipping efficiency: improve accuracy and decrease quality issues on shipments
  • Reduction in required material inventory offsets after periodic inventory cycle counts
  • Proper handle of the product to eliminate damage

  • Basic Computer Skills (Microsoft Excel a plus)
  • Intermediate Android / iPhone skills
  • MRP / ERP system proficiency (IFS a plus)
  • Good communication skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • Ability to meet work schedule (Monday thru Friday, some Saturdays, sometimes up to 12 hours)
  • Ability to follow through on assigned tasks
  • Ability to adjust priorities when necessary
  • Ability to perform with a sense of urgency
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work on non-climate environment
  • Ability to be on their feet for long periods of time and bend to pick up material
  • Ability to support other team members’ assigned tasks when necessary

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Experience in a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment
  • Load and Unload truck (box truck and flatbed)
  • Forklift experience (sit down)
  • OSHA Regulations training a plus
