Certified Construction Materials Testing Technician at ALLWEST Testing & Engineering, Inc – Missoula, Montana

General Responsibilities:

The Testing Technician / Special Inspector is responsible for conducting materials testing, monitoring construction operations, performing field tests and special inspections (depending on experience and qualifications), and ensuring compliance with plans and specifications. Day-to-day responsibilities will include soil, aggregate and asphalt density testing, concrete testing, collecting samples, recording data, preparing reports and working closely with project managers to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards.

• 2-5 years’ experience performing material testing and/or special inspections.
• Ability to conduct field inspections and prepare detailed reports.
• Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols.
• Effective communication with clients, contractors and engineering team.

Required Certifications:

• WAQTC certified and/or ACI Field Testing Technician, Grade I or above preferred
• Nuclear gauge safety training
• High school diploma or equivalent; AA in Civil Engineering Technology preferred

Preferred Certifications:

ICC Special Inspection Certification in one or more of the following categories:

• Reinforced Concrete
• Pre-Stressed Concrete
• Structural Masonry
• Post Tensioned Concrete

Additional Requirements:

• Positive attitude with a client-service approach.
• Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to use a computer and/or mobile device to complete daily field reports
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. alone and maneuver up to 75 lbs. with assistance
• Valid driver's license and the ability to travel throughout our western Montana service region.
