Job Title: Distribution Technician

Job Summary

Speare Memorial Hospital is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Distribution Technician to join our Supply Chain Management team. The primary responsibilities of this role include providing inter-facility courier services, managing inventory receiving and distribution, and ensuring efficient inventory management. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the seamless flow of medical supplies and equipment, contributing to the hospital's mission of delivering exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inter-facility Courier Services:
  • Safely and efficiently transport medical supplies, equipment, lab specimens, and documents between Speare Memorial Hospital and affiliated facilities.
  • Ensure timely delivery and pick-up schedules are adhered to, maintaining accurate records of all courier activities.
  • Handle all items with care, following hospital protocols for transportation and handling of sensitive and hazardous materials.
  • Communicate effectively with hospital departments to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly.
  • Inventory Receiving and Distribution:
  • Receive and inspect incoming shipments of medical supplies and equipment for accuracy, quality, and condition.
  • Document and report any discrepancies or damages in received goods to the Supply Chain Manager.
  • Organize and distribute inventory to the appropriate departments within the hospital, ensuring that all areas are adequately stocked.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, distribution activities, and warehouse transactions.
  • Inventory Management:
  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure that stock is maintained at optimal levels to meet the needs of the hospital.
  • Perform regular inventory audits and cycle counts to verify stock accuracy and identify any discrepancies.
  • Assist in the implementation of inventory control procedures and systems to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Coordinate with the Supply Chain Manager to forecast supply needs and place orders accordingly.
  • Utilize inventory management software to update records, track inventory movements, and generate reports.
  • Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in supply chain management or logistics is a plus.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Proficiency in inventory management software and basic computer skills.
    • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
