Job Description
Position Overview:
The Senior Vice President of Technology and Innovation will drive the strategic planning and execution of technological advancements within our homebuilding operations. The Senior VP of Technology and Innovation will collaborate with various departments, including design, construction, and sales, to align technological solutions with business objectives and ensure the company remains at the forefront of industry innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Technology Leadership: Lead the company’s technology and innovation strategy to enhance competitive advantage in homebuilding.
- Innovation Initiatives: Identify new technologies and integrate them into the business model.
- Process Improvement: Implement technology-driven process improvements to increase productivity, reduce costs, and ensure high-quality outcomes.
- Collaboration and Communication: Partner with design, construction, operational and sales teams to ensure technological initiatives align with business needs and effectively communicate the benefits and impact of these innovations.
- Vendor and Technology Partnerships: Evaluate, select, and manage relationships with external vendors, software providers, and other technology partners to implement and scale new solutions.
- Technology Infrastructure: Manage the company’s IT infrastructure and cybersecurity policies, ensuring secure and scalable systems and support long-term growth.
- Research and Development: Stay current on industry trends and innovations to ensure the company is positioned as a leader in homebuilding technology.
- Team Leadership: Lead a high-performing technology and innovation team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, creativity, and accountability.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- 15+ years of experience in technology management, innovation, or a related role, preferably in the construction industry.
- Understanding of Newstar’s Enterprise, Sales and Scheduling, Data Rails financial planning, Microsoft 365, Microsoft SharePoint, Document Locator, and Power BI.
- Proven track record of leading successful technology implementations and process improvements.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive innovation.
- Experience managing IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and vendor relationships.
- Strategic thinker with a strong focus on execution and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced, evolving industry.
Education and Experience:
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field is required.
- Master’s degree in business administration, Computer Science, or Information Technology preferred.
- At least 15 years of experience in the administration of information systems and technology, with an increasing level of responsibility throughout.
- Discretionary compensation range $200K-$350K based on experience. Competitive bonus opportunity.
