Expeditor at Neighborly Ops LLC – Thousand Oaks, California

The Expeditor (Expo) is a crucial role at Neighborly, ensuring smooth communication between the Kitchen Team and Front of House (FOH) Team. Acting as the final checkpoint for food quality and safety, the Expo reviews each dish for accuracy, presentation, and temperature, ensuring it meets Neighborly’s standards. This role requires strong attention to detail, effective communication, and a constant sense of urgency.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Reads tickets and validates that every food item as a POS sticker attached to ensure order accuracy.

• Communicates effectively with kitchen staff to clarify orders, special requests, and modifications

• Assists with the final preparation of food items before being served via carry out/delivery or dine-in

• Reviews completed orders and validates each item meets the Neighborly quality standards before delivery for accuracy, presentation and temperature. Any discrepancies on food quality or accuracy, address with the Kitchen Team immediately

• Keeps the cooking, storage, and prep areas clean, neat, and well-stocked

• Maintains cleanliness and sanitation at all times; participates in opening and closing procedures

• Upholds company safety and sanitation requirements to ensure the health and safety of our guests and employees

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

• Sense of urgency and works well in a fast-paced, high-stress environment

• Exhibits high attention to detail

• Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds

• Ability to work as a team-player

• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and organize

• Able to work flexible hours as necessary

• Part-Time and Full-Time positions available

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

• Previous expeditor, food runner or food prep experience preferred

• High-volume restaurant experience preferred

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS

• Must have the ability/stamina to work a minimum of 35 hours a week

• Ability to stand/walk for 8 hours per day

• Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs

• Will frequently reach, feel, bend, stoop, carry, finely manipulate and key in data

• Must be able to tolerate potential allergens to include peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood and shellfish
