THE OPPORTUNITY

We are currently hiring experienced Woodworking Machine Operators to join our team. The ideal candidates will have at least 5 years experience, preferably with wood processing. You are self-motivated, disciplined and take ownership for your work. Details are important to you and you are organized and reliable.

This is a full-time position reporting to the Shift Supervisor. We are located in Abbotsford, BC in the beautiful Fraser Valley, on the doorstep to numerous recreational activities.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES MAY INCLUDE:

  • Set up, program, operate and maintain the following special-purpose woodworking machines:
    • Optimizing saw
    • Finger-jointer
    • 4-sided moulder
    • Dowel Laminated Panel drill and dowel pressing machine
    • Transfer conveyors
    • Wood CNC machines
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work orders of production schedules to determine product of job instructions and specifications
  • Monitor and control product quality
  • Identify, diagnose and rectify machined product defects
  • Load and remove completed work pieces or parts from machinery manually or with cranes
  • Make final product adjustments and prepare for shipping

REQUIRED:

  • Post-secondary school education or at least 5 years of machine operation experience, preferably with wood processing (Timber Machining training is considered an asset).
  • Mechanically inclined/maintenance experience (timber machinist or millwright background preferred)
  • Flexibility, adaptability and a willingness to work any shift with possible overtime hours, which may include weekends.
  • Candidates must successfully pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test as a condition of employment.

The pay range for this role is:
