Job Description:
The Security Technician installs, services, maintains, and troubleshoots low-voltage systems such as fire alarms, burglar alarms, CCTV, access control, and nurse call systems. This role requires adherence to company standards and safety protocols while efficiently managing daily tasks and delivering exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, program, and service low-voltage systems including fire and burglar alarm systems, analog and IP-based CCTV systems, access control systems, and nurse call systems.
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to ensureaccurateand code-compliant installations.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance, inspections, and system calibrations as required by contract and company policy.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve issues with security and alarm systems efficiently.
- Assistwith system start-up, testing, and commissioning of new installations.
- Design and layout systemsin accordance withcustomer requirements and company-supported technologies.
- Maintainaccuraterecords of all service and installation activities, including work orders and inventory usage.
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures,maintaininga clean and organized work area and company vehicle.
- Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge through company training and industry developments.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in security or a related technical field.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems and network-based security technology.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and general computer applications.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Must have excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing ladders.
- Physically able to install system hardware and wiring.
- Must be able to lift 35 pounds at a time.
